Anyone else interested in compiling a list of decks made by taking an artist's existing body of work and assigning them to cards? Regardless of how you feel about this type of deck, I still think its a good thing to know about a deck that you own or are considering, and its not always immediately obvious. The List so far: Nicoletta Ceccoli Manara Edmund Dulac Banksy John Bauer WPA (Kickstarter; various art deco posters) Rackham The Hieronymus Bosch (Kickstarter, some editing to isolate elements or for restoration purposes) VTP (Kickstarter; various vintage posters) Fantastic Menagerie (J.J. Gran…

All right - I feel fully *enabled* now to start this thread... Consider yourself duly warned!! This is a place to post questions, comments, salivations and solicitations about the decks that are our and others' objects of (potential) desire.... So I'll get us started off... do I really need to save up all my lunch money for the next 10 months to nab a copy of the Victorian Romantic? And if so: does it matter which edition??? For those who love Duck Soup's Tarot of the Zirkus Magi, like I do, I just discovered "American Experience: The Circus" on Netflix. Admittedly, I'm only 5 minutes into it, but I'm hugely happy so far. https://www.netflix.com/title/81076042

The air is getting nippy, autumn's just around the corner and before you know it, you're already taking your fall decks out for a spin. So yeah, which decks are you planning to use this season? They may be your perrennial autumn favorites or something that you think would fit the Samhain/Halloween/All Souls' holidays. Maybe I'd get some ideas. :)

Wow, I finally have a name for what I've intuitively been doing - Comparative Tarot. I love this so much. I often go through my decks and get out all of the Emperors or Page of Cups or whatever card it is I'm wanting to know more deeply. Then I line them all up and sit with them and get to know them in a whole other way by noticing the similarities, differences and just plain gorgeousness of seeing all of the cards together. Thank you for creating this space (is this what's known as a sub-forum?)

So, I was digging around through my Tarot decks tonight and found the box set of the Anna K Tarot!!! :o Apparently I had bought this at some point from our used-book store and put it away then forgot about it. I kind of remember buying it, but don't remember exactly when I did. I was really excited, it was like receiving a gift for no particular reason. Guess what deck I'll be using for next weeks DotW! This was really cool! So, has this happened to you? What deck did you squirrel away then discover later?

So I am on the search for a new RWS deck since I've grown more interested on it. I looked at the online store of the only shop that I know of in my country that offers a variety of tarot decks, and I saw the Pamela Colman Smith Lo Scarabeo, and the photos were showing the one with the very vivid colours and typewriter font. Now, this deck, as far as I know, has been discontinued and replaced with a new version that has the more classic colours and a slightly different back, but goes by the same name. I emailed them to ask which version it is and asked specifically if they have the version with the brown or the version with the brown table on the box. They gave an answer t…

Does anyone else remember the good old days when gorgeous tarot decks were being released slowly...so we could all ooh and ahh and save our pennies...for that handful of decks we wanted? Now...I swear there is like, three decks a day that show up on my radar...that I am coveting them ALL because everything is unique and amazing. Maybe I am exaggerating slightly...but not really. I took a year off from tarot...and I'm afraid I will never catch up now. Are there really more artists creating more decks...or is it my imagination? Do creators have better outlets on social media for being seen? Does kickstarter factor into it mo…

Being a reader of African American Descendant I have found the majority of card unrelatable. I am curious which deck would your recommend for a reader who is not European. I am a fan of the Modern Witch's Tarot Deck because it is very inclusive but there other decks that are just as inclusive when it comes to images? I truly look forward to hearing your answers. I have placed an advanced order for the Hoodoo Tarot deck. I am literally sitting on the edge of my sit for that. Are there others that the images' beautiful and respectful of the non European people?

This is a poll, plan and simple. A head count. Not a discussion thread. not a "merit" thing. Just - which deck did you use most last year. You may name two, but not more than two. And one should be a tarot deck, please. If you name more, I will only count the first two.. I do not want to know why, but if you have a truly exciting reason, you can PM me with it ! Please, just name it. At the end of the month (as in February 1, so everyone gets a WHOLE month) I will simply count them and post the result. I was going to put up a poll - but realised that as I have no idea which decks might come up - I can't.

Not all hands can shuffle standard sized decks, and not all bags (or pockets) can fit them either. Coincidentally I fit into neither category but, no matter how much I call it a blackhole, my handbag already has enough stuff in it without adding a full sized deck to it 😂 So, for all those similarly challenged, let us glory in the diminutive and compile a list of perfectly petite decks! What mini decks do you know of? What are your favourites? They can be any size as long as they are either smaller than a standard tarot deck or smaller than the original eg. Baroque Bohemian Cats mini. As the lovely Katrinka has mentioned, if you're after…

I am having the most difficult time finding a Cat Tarot I want to read with. Some either seem to emphasize the cat too much, or anthropomorphize them, I think there are BEAUTIFUL cat decks with cats as people in dress, but not what I'm looking for. Or some seem too cartoony to me. I have a black cat and tortoiseshell cat. It would be cool to see them both represented in a deck (another thing, often cat decks stick to about three different colors of cats), but obviously not a necessity. Checked out Black Cat Tarot, not for me. Mystical, Pagan, Cat's Eye, Medieval cat tarot decks. I'm look for something that prominently features cats, but bas…

I am compiling a list of Slavic decks - Ukrainian, Russian, others - looking for something to MAYBE buy later. I am also interested in Oriental decks. I have seen many beautiful Asian decks (Chinese or Japanese) but what I want is a deck with an Arabic or Persian influence. Ethnically, I am an Uzbek/Tajik-Ukrainian-Russian mix, and I would like one deck that reflects at least some part of my ancestry. I have been looking long and hard at the 1001 Nights. These are tales I grew up with, and the cards look very much like illustrations from my beloved Uzbek fairy tales. I am very, very tempted to buy the deck, however I don't like its white borders. And Benebell…

A bit of a background story. The first time I saw Haindl deck, 20 years ago, I picked it out as a gift to my friend because I couldn't get it for myself out of fear of my very religious, anti-tarot parents. I remember we sat in "Tolkien's Pub", took the deck out, shuffled and asked "What was JRR Tolkien like?" The card we pulled was The Magician, and I knew right there and then that tarot is no joke and that I loved it. Yesterday I finally purchased this deck for myself. ☺️ I also asked it to introduce itself in three cards and this is what I got. ✨

Hello All 😁👋 I was wondering how on earth you choose which pack of cards to buy. there are so many out there to choose from all beautifully designed too. I am guessing a lot of it is to do with personal taste etc but for a beginner who is just learning about the basics of the cards decks & history this has got me stumped 🤔 any tips would be greatly appreciated thanks 🙏

I have been following his website and - well, I know he has posted on FB, as someone told me ! The “Tarot Grand Luxe” is now up for preorder from his web site. http://www.ciromarchetti.com/tarot There's info there on design options and companion themed items. Please do view the promo video with a comprehensive overview of the the deck's look and style. Looks good to me. And his digital art is second to none, I think.

Hey guys, the beautiful True Black Tarot is now live on Kickstarter! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/61940810/true-black-the-tarot-deck I'm very impressed by the video, usually the campaign vids aren't so well done. But the deck itself is stunning and I've already nabbed a copy for myself! Just thought I'd spread the news in case anyone else has been waiting for this one too :)

It's finally coming! There have been a few whispers about a dark/gothic deck that the acclaimed Tarot author Sasha Graham has been working on, but there has been nothing concrete until now. All we know is that it will be a collaboration between Graham and Mirco Pierfederici with the latter as the illustrator. It's also set to be released next year. Just a few hours ago, she finally made a reveal post in her Instagram account, and oh, it's everything I have ever wished for and more! Since this is a collab, I'm going to be expecting a deck and book set, but let's see!

This software for desktops has been around a long time, but I'm only just trying to learn it https://orphalese.net/ I've been making my own cards and wanted to get a start at uploading before it is too big of a job. So far I haven't figured out how to do that, but hopefully I will before too long. This isn't a tarot deck, so won't have 78 cards, or go by structure names. A couple of questions, have any of you deck artists uploaded you in progress cards rather than a whole deck? And as a general subject do you have the software and enjoy using it? Thanks, Sharyn

    >:( >:( >: >:( So.. recently I have purchased two new decks to enlarge my very modest colelction - namely the Classic llywelyn tarot and the llywelyn tarot ( the cletic inspired one) I got both and was very happy especially with the second one ( even thought the classical started growing on me as well)- All was well until I have decided to start shuffling them a bit.. It wasn't more then 3 min into the shuffling that I saw some cards already had dints- some to a point where it was obvious.. even after trimming the second deck and reshuffling some cards again had dints- and I don't shuffle agressively - in comparison my Robin Wood deck which I have been …
