Baba studio just wrote on their Instagram that the bohemian gothic is very nearly sold out, so I thought I’d mention this here in case anyone has been thinking about purchasing it. I’m not sure if they will make another edition as they have been talking about making plans for (at least part time) retirement. EDIT: As I just wrote in my last post, they are taking pre-orders for a reprint of the guidebook. It is a limited thing and only pre-order. Can you guys suggest some nice decks that incorporate modern technology in their imagery? I have the Tarot of the Silicon Dawn and that's one of my favorite aspects of it. Also I remember seeing an adorable robot-themed tarot somewhere on the internet but, of course, I can't find it anymore! Thanks for your help!

We are approaching the Autumn Equinox here, the nights are drawing in and it's cooler outside. We are starting to see mists and wet grass in the mornings, trees are losing their leaves and mushrooms have started appearing. Does anyone else remember the good old days when gorgeous tarot decks were being released slowly...so we could all ooh and ahh and save our pennies...for that handful of decks we wanted? Now...I swear there is like,three decks a day that show up on my radar...that I am coveting them ALL because everything is unique and amazing. Maybe I am exaggerating slightly...but not really. Alright, I'm here to set up something I've been really thinking about and that I think we could all benefit from. We have a great forum full of people who use all three of the "major" systems - TDM, RWS and Thoth. Thus, I figured we all should cross pollinate a bit and discuss, compare and contrast, the various cards within. If you're destined to be stranded on a desert island and you can do nothing to avert your fate BUT you can prepare for it by packing at most five (5) decks in advance, which would you bring with you? The only rule is that you must have at least one Tarot and one non-Tarot deck - the other three may be any deck at all. It's supposed to ship September 15. Like the other recent Rider Waite editions that have been popping up on Etsy, Amazon and eBay, this one claims to be a reproduction of one of the very first editions. I'll wait and see.

I was posting on What's the Postman bringing? thread when I realized I organize my decks into families. I never thought of this before ... but I do. I bought several decks, but when I do a reading on them I just go back and look at the Rider Waite. For a newbie would you recommend starting out with a Rider Waite or just grabbing a deck you find aesthetically pleasing?
