Decan Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 (edited) I finally received the little deck I purchased from Hungary (Cigany Kartya) at the end of the last week; well it took 1 month, no less! I don't particularly recommend it. The cardstock is ok but strange too, actually the back has no lamination at all, but on the other side yes. The drawings are more graphic than the Piatnik though. And there are a few instructions which give clues to understand how people deal with this family of decks. ETA: I compared with the LWB with the standard Gypsy Cards by Piatnik and the instructions are exactly the same! It’s sort of copy-paste here... Otherwise I bought a Art Deco deck (Piatnik); for this one I was really satisfied (a "ah ah moment!" somehow), the colors are stunning and it is a retro chic little deck! 🙂 @bookshop your deck seems straight out from hell! Grace Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 I'm pretty excited.... the husband has put through my birthday gift order and I can't wait for it to arrive. It probably wont get here till after the fact, but I'm thrilled nevertheless. The order includes The Qabalistic Tarot textbook by Robert Wang. For months I have been trying to decide between a few similar books to help me uncover a little more about my Hermetic Tarot deck, and do a little formal study. Unfortunately access to the main philosophical bookstore in my city has not been possible, so I decided to go for it sans the preview that a good flick through would have provided prior to purchase. Very excited and hopeful that it is what I'm looking for! I'm also waiting on The Zombie Tarot. I'm not much into the gruesome (or Zombies for than matter), but I love a good retro collage and I find the images to be more entertaining and humorous than truly scary. And now we wait! Hurry up Postman!

Sadly my pic of the box (bottom) doesn't do it justice; it's a really nice little piece of work. The card stock is INCREDIBLY thick, too, like True Black or Threads of Fate level heavy. If you're a fan of the show, 10/10 can recommend.

I appear to have nabbed one of the last ones on sale (at least for now). A fellow tarot reader on Reddit actually told me where I could still find it which was very cool of them! I'll hold off judgement until I have it but I - now - have happened upon a thread in this forum somewhere about how the images were likely not actually created as Tarot images but just fitted into them, so I am a little braced for disappointment.

I've just placed an order with Booktopia for the Old Style Lenormand deck, the Pre Raphaelite Tarot, the Kitchen Table Tarot book, and The Complete Lenormand Oracle book.
