Hello. I am a new member of this forum. I have been interested in tarot for some time, and recently I purchased my first deck. By the way, it's the Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot deck. I got staggering results from my very first reading. I'm excited. And I'm very interested in esotericism. I think that soon I will become more knowledgeable in this subject and will be confident in using it. I am Russian, so unfortunately, I may not understand everything, and my words may sound unclear and disjointed. I am also very into socionics, psychosophy, and the Enneagram. A few amazing people at Aeclectic helped me get started by gifting decks and stuff. Throughout the years, life came and went and my studies all but stopped completely. I read something once that says that if you only read for yourself most of the time, you get into a place where you just look at the cards and say, for example, "Hmm. Queen of cups. Love okay, okay. Hi. So I am brand new to this community. I am also pretty new to tarot. I am a 61 year old man who lives in San Diego, CA. For the past 8 years my main focus has been on recovery from severe childhood traumas. The healing required a great deal of solitude. And I can now happily report that I made enough progress in my healing that I now am really seeking community. I got into tarot a while back on a lark, not thinking I would get that much into it. After doing a couple initial spreads just to do it, I found myself continuing the practice. In retrospect it makes sense as I already liked collecting cards and being introspective, so it seems obvious it would click with me. Since then I've accumulated a fair amount more decks and have come to learn a number of cards by sight. Not close to any mastery of the cards, but the intuition is getting sharpened bit-by-bit.
