Hello everyone, ☺️ The 9 day Navratri festival is being celebrated by Hindus around the world from last week onwards, and is from 15-10-23 (Sunday) to 24-10-23 (Tuesday). The Navratri festival is conducted in reverence of the Mother Goddess Durga. As per Shakta philosophy of Hinduism, all women and females are manifestations of the Divine Mother and reverence towards them results in auspiciousness and strength.

Odd question I know, but maybe someone here can offer suggestions? I was born on chalk ground, and love the feel of it still, to walk those pale fields again, to pick up a flint in the furrows - wonderful Since then I've lived in various places, some better, some worse, but now we are probably living in our last place, Glastonbury . . . and the ground is clay. I just cannot seem to get used to it, to feel "at home" on it even after several years. The geology is clay, with clay underneath, and then lots more clay - right down to Jurassic and Triassic layers - but all clay. There is a lot of water round here too. There a re a few harder outcrops, s…

From the Elements of Recovery booklet: Trustworthiness To be trustworthy means to be dependable and responsible. It is a quality earned only through respectful relationships. The three “Cs” encompass trustworthiness: 1. Credibility – Do we avoid distorting the facts when we tell about an event or pass along information? For instance, do we exaggerate details (to make us look good) or leave out details (to keep us from looking bad)? We need to be honest to be credible. 2. Consistency – Do we follow up our intentions and promises in a timely manner with action? 3. Consideration – Do we keep confidences and avoid gossiping? Do we contact others when we realize w…

A few months ago my cat, Penny got spooked when I was clearing my house to get ready to sell. She ran away and didn't come home. I've exhausted the usual avenues with no luck. But something makes me feel she is still alive and has turned a bit wild and feral. I tried to find her using a pendulum and a map, but I couldn't find her. I've attached the most recent photo I have of her, right before she ran away if that helps. I've moved house now and it's not so easy for me to keep looking for her. Thank you. Seems appropriate, given that it is Martinmass tomorrow and we are officially entering winter, to think about the gifts or benefits of all aspects of the dark. From the literal long winter's nights to the shadow sides of our souls and the the painful or fear inducing, destructive aspects of life. 2020 has brought plenty of examples to choose from and I don't mean merely finding positive aspects or outcomes of horrible situations but what we can learn about ourselves by seeking out the lessons, even the painful ones. I was thinking about Trump (who hasn't?) and it struck me how he has taught me that sheer force of will can propel a person to dizzy…

Thought I would start this thread because I thought of it after I posted pix of my first place in town when I moved to the Midwest from the Southwest. I don't spook easily. I look at logical, scientific reasons FIRST.... With that said, here are some things that happened from first days I was in an 1890's large attic apartment. 1. My dog who does not just growl and certainly doesn't raise his hackles without SEEING or HEARING another person or creature, stares into what would become my reading space, where there was nothing, and would just....stare and growl, stare and growl, never did that before, didn't do it in other rooms. 2. the landlady was sitting on …

This is not to be confused with a new house clearing or blessing, but something I just do time to time. I walk around the corners of each room and use my chime (although clapping disperses energy as well). Light some incense and walk around rooms (my smudging). When the place is closed up a lot in winter, that and opening a window as I can for as long as I can (but hard when it's COOOLD) just helps energize my space and bring some positive vibes. I also may cleanse the stones I have on my windowsills during the super moon. And from time to time, I sprinkle salt around the front of the outside of my door. Just need a bit of quick clearing, I just use my…

I've started daily meditation again after a short hiatus, and thought it might be fun to do it together! If you are struggling with it, or want a little accountability to make sure you don't skip a day, it can be easier with some support. I have found that consistency with meditation practice is very important to get the best outcomes. I have tried many different methods, and while I enjoy mixing it up every now and then I have a few types as my go-to sessions. Tonight I've chosen to use my 'Muse' headset, which is a completely unnecessary but fun meditation tool. Who's in?

According to checkiday.com, Oct. 1st is "Less Than Perfect Day:" "Less Than Perfect Day is a day to accept that it's okay to not be perfect. Some people are perfectionists who are very hard on themselves if they make a mistake, and some people are okay with their faults. No matter where you fall on that spectrum, today is a day to remember that we all make mistakes and that we should try hard at everything we do, but not so hard as to stress ourselves out. Spend the day trying to keep yourself from stressing out about things you aren't perfect at. It might be a day to challenge yourself to try new and difficult things, because at the same time you will be focusing o…

I noticed a tendency in myself during hurricane Mary to hope the storm would take a more westerly track for the excitement and change in routine and interpreted this yearning to be unconstructive in the empathic sense. In cultivating empathy I thought I might pluck out of myself the response to the news of the hurricane's whereabouts by dwelling on the symptom and consciously making the distinction between excitement for myself and excitement that may be unwelcomed by other people. Already I feel better for having made this post and putting the symptom in perspective.

Does anyone here ever experiment with states of flow while they do Tarot? I've had to be in a heavy state of flow consistently for quite some time now due to health issues and self healing. I come and go from it depending on what I am doing, but am trying to integrate it into my life more and more in practical ways. It seems like I always draw the right cards, and I've been experimenting making my own lay outs. I seem to have a specialty, and that is mirrored or self reflective readings. I make my own card lay outs that I don't even understand while I am doing them, they are very ambitious. As I lay the cards out I expect each card to compliment its counter part like a…

------------------------------------------- What is your take on spirituality? ------------------------------------------- Spirituality to me is the path that our spirit takes, or the path that our spirit wants us to take. What then is spirit to me? Spirit is the core light that guides me. It is everything viewed as good in life and the path that light naturally points towards. The nature of ones spirit is different from person to person, it is also different from society to society. Even ages have their own spirit, reflected in the saying "spirit of our times". Like materialism in the west, a spirit that denies its own spiritual nature. People who have spirit…

There is a Kabbalistic Lineage that works with images directly. I always had great respect for them, as in some points of view that is the female part of this, missing in many of the old systems, almost everywhere I think. In Egypt was called "Left Eye of Horus" I think, not sure. Right Eye is the Structural stuff and working directly with Images is suppose to be the Left. Since that requires dialog, and is always surprising and changing it isn't easy to present it in a book or a video, so most of their exercises seem like a normal visualization, initially. But the system is not based on that, this is just the surface stuff. They are done fast, because... Well, …

I personally believe that we are ONE and the more people join for a group meditation the better. Here is a link to a group meditation, there is also a Time Conversion Table so you know what time it will be at your place. https://mailchi.mp/dfb4970313b3/global-unity-and-peace-meditation-3-more-days-1301429?fbclid=IwAR1vLZJbfDIaUOt6fmzMA0l6AexE80jCdsgNHz4kv3fFJxm40IaFs8LXOQk

So, there was much drama about the solar eclipse here in the UK - on Wednesday 12th. I've already had several clients tell me all about their experience of gathering in a designated spot - which turned out to be chockablock with eclipse fans - to watch the event. As for myself - I'd forgotten when it was, until someone reminded me on the day - by which time I thought "well, I'm not prepared & I have work - so that's that". Lol. I like to be properly prepared for things. So - I'm wondering if anyone else would like to recount their story of their experiences? Ironically - the last client of the day that I was expecting cancelled due to an emergency - and, I then pr…

When I was a child - Sunday was church going day. My parents were losely Catholic, and my father liked to take us to "ye old Cathedral" for sunday mass, followed by lunch at Intercontinental Hotel. I enjoyed choosing my "sunday best" - which was how 'putting on your best frock for church' was described in our culture, and joining in the hymns (although they were never as good as hymns at school - because those, we practiced well, with harmony). I enjoyed even more my favourite Sunday lunch. Spaghetti bolognaise 🙂 followed by chocolate something or other. I was never truly Catholic and after I left home - I spent sometime exploring different spiritual formats until I foun…

In the west we are approaching Halloween and Day of the Dead or All Saints Day at the end of October and beginning of November. In the Hindu calendar the 2 weeks leading up to October 9 [depending on Lunar Calendar] are a time to honor ancestors. There are special rules according to the date the loved-one died, but if you don't know the date, October 9 is the day you can collectively honor all your dearly departed. Pitru Paksh strikes me as very similar to Halloween. Same notion of the veils between the worlds being thinner at this time and the dead being more accessible to the living. Different dates but a similar vibe nonetheless. One interesting difference I just le…
