Anybody else waiting for this one with bated breath?? I asked Mr. Butler what happened to his plans for Healing Light Lenormand, since I could no longer see the cards on his website, and find no record of it on sale yet - and he says: “I’ve completed a matching Lenormand but as yet, don’t have a publishing deal for it. Do let Lo Scarobeo know that you’re interested in my Lenormand. Customer/reader feedback helps them make decisions on what to commission and publish.” I have his Healing Light Tarot - which is a favourite - and I was rather looking forward to having an accompanying Lenormand in the same style. Please join me in requesting that Lo Scarabeo publ…

Two weeks ago my cousin wanted me to read about his upcoming increment. He said boss had fleetingly mentioned to him on 6th May (Monday) that he will get the increment letter on 10th May (Friday). So I asked the cards about the situation and I got: Mountain, Woman and Bouquet. At that moment it didn’t make any sense to me, as there was no mention of any lady in the conversations I have had with him hence I decided to drop the reading and I never got back to my cousin on the interpretation (I am sorry for not responding to him and he never asked too, guess we both got busy). Today morning when we spoke, I checked with him on his increment. He said he s…

Hi , I recently bought the old Arabian Lenormand. It contains extra cards. One of them is a zero with a picture of spices. What does this mean? I thought there was only 36 cards.

When we read that the Stork is a migratory bird and that this meaning is applied to some of our readings, does it mean that the card can indicate a sort of homecoming, of return too? Wasn't this meaning more suitable to the Ring, though? Can the two cards have these similar meanings?

So, if you are working out the importance of FOCUS vs NOUNS with Cards 1 or 2 how would you view these: Heart and Snake Snake and Heart Coffin and Ring Ring and Coffin Doing FOCUS and NOUNS and looking at 1 or 2. DND ---------------- i think the key thing to make a note of ,, i am refering to the central card in your 3 , 5 , 7, 9 cards lines.. that sometimes were chosen by "focus"aka praying/mediating with it and so is choosen to focus on the issue.. and your regular central card that isnt' chosen but is still the focus of the issue. it should be noted that beyond tarot world , aka donna teaches in her 3 card video that it is .. topic, does wha…

Based on the idea that the Tower does not mean bureaucracy, which card (or combination of them) would mean that? The Tower is said to mean buildings of high importance, including courthouses and government buildings. How to express bureaucracy, officialdom and even hierarchy, using the Tower? Similarly, how to represent the establishment, and all sorts of hierarchical systems, the “order” of things? Is there a need for another card to convey these ideas? If so, which ones? And, because I'm talking about the Tower: can it signify aloofness? What about chain-stores?

Most LN cards have a timing aspect. Obviously, if my spread is specifically asking for a time frame ... I would go straight to that meaning of the card. BUT ... what if it's less clear? Frex in Tarot if I see an Ace I often take it as a timing message even thought the question didn't specifically relate to timing ... but with 45 years experience ... I have a good intuition about when to do this. How do YOU use LN as timing cards? This has come up with Fox in a spread which didn't really fit the standard meanings ... the 14 days timing meaning might be more pertinent than any of the other meanings ... but this seems a bit sloppy and "…

I came across this Lenormand deck for sale in a website. I quite like the “clean” and vintage aesthetics, but I also noticed that each card has two PCs inserts instead of one, which I had never seen before. Also, the style of the pips in each insert is different, as if they came from different decks. Any idea what they refer to? Have you ever seen a Lenormand like this before? Thanks!

I have both books (Rana George's and Andy Broroveshengra's) and I really do want to learn Lenormand, so who should I go with? Apparently Boroveshengra follows the German system, and George the French. What is the difference? Is there a big difference? Which one should I start with? I have Kipper cards, too, so which system would allow to dovetail more easily into Kipper? Really appreciate your help. Thank you.

After banging my head against the wall on the the whole Fox vs. Moon as the LN Work card ... I've come to some Conclusions: Lenormand HAS no work card. Not like Tarot very kindly gives us 8 coins, Ace coins, Knight Coins. I REALLY REALLY wanted LN to "work" that way and give me at least ONE work card. But no. LN doesn't care how Tarot does it. I hate both Moon and Fox as "work" cards. Neither fits. Much respect to Andy B and Rana George ... but not for me. I think Rana added a Market card as an extra in her deck ... forget all the extra Lord and Lady cards ... add a Market card, please! So far I like @katrinka method of Anchor as a Job. As she …

I been thinking of how no card means sex, though in some books it is listed. But imagine in the context of the question. You just met a person and planning to do the deed. So you ask the question.. lets assume client is 100 percent on board for the deed. I wondered as i sit here in the car what the other cards might mean.. The tower for example could represent longevity.. Or perhaps it will not occur though we might think it does. I described the lady asking the question as queen of diamonds, asking about the king of diamondz. I asked for the best cards for teaching from the guides. Coffin, …

In the German/Dutch method of Andy B, must there always be a significator in the reading? Should that be always be the Lady (for a female querent or reading for self, if one is a woman) or are there other significators in a three card reading? Is it possible, in this method, not to have a significator and just read the three cards together? Thank you for your help. <3

In questions regarding my own cats, FOX often shows up, not DOG. And I remember well that Andy B in his book 36 cards mentions cats can show as Fox. How do you read? Some reader like to take on the teaching role.. Chris Bruder (ardent Rana follower and fan) from a Facebook group: ”VERY Quick Tip on the Difference Between the Fox and the Dog— I have seen and am currently seeing a lot of readers use the Fox to represent cats because they are and appear cat-like. However, this is an incorrect usage of the Fox for two reasons: 1. Foxes are actually genetic descendants of wolves and dogs (please see attached screenshot of …

Cheersies! Given how the Lenormand section had been active lately, I felt I could ask if there's a suitable deck. You see, I've often admired Lenormand decks for the high purity of their card symbols - with each card, by default, containing a single symbol only (albeit a vague enough one). And so, I'm looking for a deck which has it's illustrations drawn in a correspondingly simple and pure way. A Fox that looks as close to the concept of the Fox as possible, a House depicted being the very idea of the House and so on - it's a bit hard to explain in detail, but I hope you will understand my line of thought. Are there any decks which, in your opinion, fit my de…

Pondering about how many times some cards in Lenormand mean, so far that's what I observed: The Coffin = zero. The Tower = once, as it means one. The Whip = twice, to punish or remedy. The Birds = double. The Roads = at least two, as it means options. The Stars = multiple times, as it infers multitude. The Fish = many, like the Stars. Am I missing any? In your experience (it doesn't matter if you're a newbie or not, I want to know from what you've read so far) what have you observed?

Modern Lenormad its in vogue to include extra lord and lady cards ... and some decks have a non-binary person card. Ellada deck by Daniloff ... I just read it for the first time and was surprised to discover it has a different take on the extra cards. It has a masculine and feminine #28 Lord It has a feminine and masculine #29 Lady They're not exactly non-binary ... but I thought it was an interesting take. The gender-bending cards are both musicians.

I was wondering for those who have this deck, how do you feel it is for a beginner or for a learner? I feel so drawn to this deck...but I don't read Lenormand and literally don't know the first thing about the system or decks! So just putting some feelers out there :) Not like I don't have enough to learn since I still need to start working with my runes...I have an I Ching deck I need to learn to read with...

@timtoldrum suggested a thread for this, and I agree that it's vital. As for the Birch Rods, I always guessed that the association with stationery was due to the tail of the whip looking like the flourish on a signature, but I could be very, very wrong! Looking forward to this thread. 🙂

Hey all! I was wondering if you find any significance when the cards fall in line, like the numbers follow each other one line that comes from 1 to 5 or 15 - 19 etc. In Tarot it is significant for me because every suit has its story and when the cards come in line then is like the story follows as it goes etc But Lenormand seem to be more random. Does anyone sees it a bit differently?

I've been thinking of expanding my own personal Lenormand deck a little to include a few non-traditional cards. My main reason for this is that I think there are a few aspects of modern life that aren't well-represented because of changes in modern society, and a few cards that are overburdened with meanings that don't feel appropriate to the symbols they contain. My main bugbear is that there isn't really anything that represents technology or invention, which is a large factor in modern life. Can anyone else think of any concepts they feel are not adequately represented in Lenormand, or cards that have too many meanings that might be better split…

The art is taken from Yellow Submarine, and it is, as expected, busy. This is not a deck I would recommend for beginners, nor would I use it myself for large spreads. But if you're thoroughly familiar with Lenormand and old Beatles tracks, it's a fun deck. And it looks like the artist did put some thought into it. In addition to the trippy images, there are snatches of song lyrics - sometimes lyrics from several songs on the same card: So that's Blackbird, Till There Was You, and And Your Bird Can Sing, all songs about very different subjects (Civil Rights, love, Marianne Faithfull - "bird" was a slang word for a prostitute that eventually came to m…

I know this isn't really a thing. Mostly its just GT, smaller Tableaux, or Lines. But I've become curious about trying spreads with LN ... at least historic ones. @akiva you had sent me an historic spread called Grand Star in my PMs. You also mentioned Grand Cross as a LN spread ... are these 2 different spreads? If yes, how do you do Grand Cross? I saw a Youtuber do a LN Grand Cross but I trust your methods more than hers 😉
