oooh this is so tricky! 🙂

1. Gilded Reverie (Ciro Marchetti Lenormand, we can include the regular and expanded deck all as this I think, it's just so nice to read and so luxurious and rich in style)

2. Pixie's Astounding Lenormand (the RWS original images changed into Lenormand is just gorgeous)

3, Final choice and so hard, do I go for Chronata's Minute Lenormand or the Day of the Dead or Mystical. No I am going for a weird choice and that is Titania's Fortune Cards. I learnt with this deck first after having a reading from it by someone else on AT years ago. Her meanings in the book are a bit off and it is the most basic art ever or shall we say "minimalist". Just the symbol and a brightly coloured card, some of the cards for no reason at all are polarised / reversed images! I learnt as a beginner with it and eventually wanted to move on to more detailed cards but whenever I use this deck it gives excellent readings, every time! so I have to include it out of fondness 🙂

Hmmm, third choice for me will be the Daveluy.

So many lovely decks mentioned already.

The Daveluy is very nice and part of my little collection!

I realize that 2 decks can be too restrictive for most of you, so I'm adapting a bit here.

Okay guys, the rule becomes 1 to 3 decks you find "the best" for you (for different personal reasons). But if you love just 1 Lenormand deck it's okay while you can mention until 3 for the list.

@DownUnderNZer I will take into account your 3 choices.

Personally my third choice would be the Dondorf.

@Therese you mentioned 3 decks, so I will take all them into account!

@katrinka @Flaxen @HOLMES @Charlie Brown just to let you know that you can add a third deck if you want (3 choices is something now possible!!)

@Decan - Cool!  I think a great idea as there are so many out there these days. Thanks! If only we could choose 5...

Hi Decan 🙂  Well I have a lot of these decks lol.  They are like precious jewels to me and are stored separately fm other kinds like "other oracles" and tarot.  I do store my sibilla deck w them bc, as katrinka pointed out, Lenormand decks are sibillas bc they are playing cards?  Did I get that right?  And my sibilla is bridge-sized.  OK onto what do I use?

I currently prefer my Russian Blue Owl mini.  HERE . Deeper coloration, borderless, and some lovely flourishes about the insets.  Warning:  the cardstock is no cardstock, it's purely thin cardboard so don't spill your tea or riffle-shuffle!   I also use my regular Blau Eule more often.

And this hasn't been mentioned but I love to work w the A.S.S. (Altenburg Stralsunder Spielkartenfabrik).  HERE and HERE.  Hexe Claire uses these in her videos and they have an EARLY mid-century modern aesthetic.  A bit geometric w lively colors and very clear to read (except they biffed on the CLOUDS direction (as in no clear direction-fairly common phenom) but I love it anyway!

I also, as some have mentioned, am not using my Dondorf.  It's lovely but it just wants to sit there.

eta: The Rana George is a beautifully done set as well w a magnetic closure box and a real book written by her!

These are all extremely reasonably priced and very easy to see in a GT.  I prefer decks w less clutter.

(Mods:  Is there no PREVIEW here before posting a reply?? and why is that smiley so yuuuge?)

Hi @bastetly!!

Yes, Lenormand and Sibilla, precious jewels for me, the same (while I came back to Tarot lately after a time where I neglected it a bit, a shame!).

Okay, I notice that you tend to choose German Lenormand decks. Otherwise you won't believe me but I just discovered the ASS Lenormand (how can this possible!)

For my little list, I can't go too far with regard to publishers or between a bridge or a mini, it would be too complicated, I have to simplify a bit even if for some part it can be unfair, I recognize it.

So I understand that you could choose the Blue Owl (Blau Eule) Lenormand as the best for you. You can just mention this one! But you can add 2 other decks you find the best if you want. I will update the list later.

ETA: otherwise take a look at this one (I noticed that you taste is near mine often):

Keep looking on Book Depository and you'll find half my collection LOL.  Cheap durable and wonderful German decks.

But Yes for style I wd choose the ZAO-Gelii Lenormand Fortune-Telling Cards (Russian Blue Owl)  I can only find the mini.  Or the regular German one.  It just works for me for the time being.

I also have a fondness for some other Russian lenormands.

And as you were discovering the ASS, I was today (again) viewing the Teuila Cards!  They're disarmingly simple, pretty and vintage.  They also cost more than a dollar a card lol.  Blame my thinking on my wartime mother 😉  I WANT ONE but cannot justify right now 😞  I went through this same battle over the Mildred's.  It never stops.  Also as you said in the other topic, I have so many, WHY another one?  Because it's there.  I may not be able to ignore.  It's a little sick.  I should be saving for the coming zombie apocalypse but this is funner 😛

I like that we have similar tastes in lennies and other oracles too!  That is why I'm following you  (another word for stalker-vibes dear Decan )  But I won't be scary, just keep postin what you like and I will prob read it 🙂

eta: re Teuila, have now found them cheaper, and now know etsy is more expensive! than going direct to their bigcartel site.  whew!

I understand that! But this little deck is cheapier than you think: 45 cards + 7 cards which explain how to use them, so 52 cards for $35... and the card is 0,67 buck each, not a caviar deck lol :classic_biggrin: but yes it is a bit expensive nevertheless.

Okay otherwise dear Bastetly let me know (when you will be ready naturally, and there is a lot of time ahead) what are you choices (for my list)

Thanks and updated!! Otherwise it's only up to everyone to decide the decks (or the decks) they consider "the best" for them, I don't interfere, I just count and list!

Anna K is showing up in third place with two votes, but the Wust and the Gilded Reverie also have two each.

If I take "best" to mean the ones I get the most pleasure out of using, #1 would be Lynn Boyle's Heloise Lenormand; I take it whenever I go out to read. For its sentimental value, #2 would be Ciro's Gilded Reverie, my first Lenormand and the one I used the most from 2011 to 2017, when I began buying more decks. There has to be a traditional deck in the mix, and among those I own, the Blue Owl would be #3.

I'm  kind of a minimalist about Lenormand. I have Ciro's Expanded Gilded Reverie and his Kipper, too. Those are the decks I use for the Tea House.  And then there's the Mystical Lenormand and Mystical Kipper that I use when space is limited. I have a couple other Lenormand decks that I don't use. I think one is Blue Owl and one may be Dondorf or something like that.  I just really don't see the need to have a whole bunch of different Lenormands and Kippers.

Yes, it's because popularity comes first and then alphbetical order; but with the podium this gives this situation (at least currently) and it's something I should think about because it looks unfair (possibly I will add a little rule or something, I don't know).

The list is under contrustion and since there is 1 month ahead I will ajust in order to take into acount things I even didn't think about when I began the thread.

Thank you @Barleywine yes here by the best I meant "your most favorites" finally. Duly noted!!

Hello @Grizabella thanks for participating! Your web site under construction looks already great (I like the clouds moving in the background, it gives a nice atmosphere!).

So here I understand that you prefer only 2 decks, that is to say the Gilded Reverie and the Mystical Lenormand (I listed these two); you can choose another one if you want (it's optional though) and add or the Blue Owl or the Dondorf. You can as well change your mind during the month to come if you feel it that way.

I'm just here to pimp the Alternate Realities Lenormand, which is the only Lenormand deck I own or (so far) want to own. I love it so, so much and I'm always surprised that it's not more widely known/used. I think it's just beautiful. https://jae-larson-designs.myshopify.com/products/alternate-realities-lenormand-card-deck

I'm not familiar with this theme on the forums. I just switched to the flames theme and it's a little bit different from that other I was using. But anyway, that's a really beautiful deck! I can see why you love it so much.

Hi guys!

I modified a few things in my first post in order to adapt things in a better way.

So, I modified the title for "What are you favorite Lenormand decks?" because the wording in my first question wasn't clear enough maybe, actually by "the best" I meant "your favorite".

Otherwise I removed my personal choice from the first post because by giving it at the top it was unfair in my opinion.

And I changed as well my choices: I still choose the Wüst Lenormand + the Schmid, but instead of the Dondorf I choose the Daveluy finally, because it was one of my very first Lenormand decks and really a lovely one.

Yes, I prefer just the two decks I mentioned.

Thank you for the nice comment on my website. I've always loved seeing the mist on and around the mountains every year. Now I live up here with mist  so I can watch it  as it wanders and curls through the trees right outside my RV.  That background was naturally the most appropriate for my website.

Just a comment to add as if ..... 😉    I do not care for cards that have the titles bannered across the front.  A good symbol rendition does not NEED the name of the card on it.  And it takes room fm the picture.  Thank you.

YES.
It's not the Holy Light. We know what a dog looks like, it doesn't need to say "DOG". And if there's any doubt (but there shouldn't be), you've got "18" and the 10 of Hearts on there. Those title banners can be a real deal killer for me.

I've only really used the Piatnik No. 194115 so I'm going to say that as one of my choices, and my favourite to look at and I'm planning on using it one day is the Scrying Ink.

I don't know about a third one, so I think I'll stick with just them.
