Tarot Decks

I tend to use certain decks for this upcoming season. Mostly my darker decks because I feel they have a more earthy tone. For example Tarot of the Vampyres, Deviant Moon, Tarot of Bones and Mary El among others. Does anyone else like to use different decks like this?

Hello All So curious if anyone else used this deck and there opinion of it? It’s a gorgeous deck that focuses more mythology and shamanism. However it’s the first deck I’ve every used that doesn’t follow the usual Rider-Waite format for each card. Unique but does make it hard to read at times.

Here's another one I've been meaning to share: http://www.tarotoftheabyss.com/ It's by the same artist as the Oracle of Echoes and the forthcoming Bonestone and Earthflesh Tarot. This one is a black and white deck, all done in pen and ink drawings. I love the fine lines. Black and white decks usually don't grab me as much, but this one intrigues me.

This may not be in the right section but I'm not talking about specific decks and I'm not talking about possible card meanings so I'm not sure where it belongs. I want to add a couple decks to the library but I'd like to hear from others which cards they'd like to see as samples. For example, your "make it or break it" card when deciding to purchase a deck. I don't have such a card myself but I know that some do. @gregory likes to see the Death card and I'll include that no matter the deck samples I choose to upload. I don't want to just upload majors for viewing so any suggestions as to minors people might want to see?

As the title says! I'm a huge herpetology and ornithology nerd and I would be fascinated to find more decks featuring these animals. Birds seem to be commonly featured in decks, I specifically have my eye on the Crow tarot because they're my favorite birds! But reptiles I don't see so much. I would love to see a deck full of snakes, lizards, turtles, geckos, all the reptiles! As for birds, I'm amazed that an Audubon oracle does not seem to exist yet. Perhaps I should make my own. The third release in the Anima Antiqua line, is a deck called Minchiate. A regional variation of Tarot with 97 cards, the Minchiate had additional Trumps based on Astrology. Hi all, I id a Tarot reading for my friend whose love interest who declined her request as calling her. My friend had stopped talking to the person after he declined her request. Since he was calling her, she did not pick his call and in turn asked me to check in Tarot why he as calling her. I pulled three cards and got Page of Swords, King of wands and Magician. However, I'm unable to weave a story. Can anyone help?

There is an official one, but without the Minor Arcana. I have been thinking of doing up the Minor Arcana. I've seen an anime Tarot deck on Amazon but I disagree with a lot of the card choices.

Hi. I had a reading recently and I was wondering if anyone would be able to help identify the deck. The cards had the zodiac signs hidden in the images. The wands all had stones on the ends. The wands cards were all orange themed. The swords were all dark blue themed and the king, queen and page all wore heavy armour. The magician card had a man with an hopes hand performing magic. The queen of swords, she was standing side on, had a sword raised, a Libra sign on her arm and a Scorpio above.

So a few months back artist Madeline Priebe posted some images of a Muppets tarot she'd been doing, just the majors, and they were stunning. They're so lovely, though, I couldn't say no. Too good of a match to So Lazo's Rainbow Tarot and so very well done.

Romanian artist Maria Surducan's Tarot-like deck, Timemongers, is now available for pre-order. I've been following this one for a while so despite the shipping costing more than the deck, I'm all in. It IS a pips deck, but I'm willing to make an exception every now and then, and this is one.

The air is getting nippy, autumn's just around the corner and before you know it, you're already taking your fall decks out for a spin. So yeah, which decks are you planning to use this season? They may be your perrennial autumn favorites or something that you think would fit the Samhain/Halloween/All Souls' holidays. Maybe I'd get some ideas. :)

Apologies if this topic has been covered, I have been having a look through some of the previous threads but can't find something specific to this. I was just wondering how you choose tarot decks when buying them... I have found that sometimes when I use tarot decks that are pretty and simple, it can make reading harder- not sure why. But then I'm not sure if I want a deck that is overly complicated either... which I think Raider-Waite is sometimes. So are there any rules/considerations you have when choosing your decks or is it largely trial and error?

Currently the only deck I have is the Pagan Cats Tarot, which I adore, but I would like to begin expanding my collection and want to start with either the original RWS, or maybe the Morgan Greer tarot which I think is very beautiful. Both of them appeal to me and I want to own both eventually, I just need to choose which one first! The original RWS will be very helpful for study while I think the Morgan Greer will be better for connecting with and doing readings for myself because of the intimate feeling of the artwork. Although I'm already very connected with my Pagan Cats deck, so perhaps I can keep relying on that one for now and focus on studying the original to soak …

I'm designing some patterns for tarot wallets/bags that I want to make available online. I've been looking around online to gather the average dimensions of different decks and have devised five basic sizes (mini/small/medium/large/extra large) around which I will design the patterns, but the one that I'm missing is deck thickness which is not always mentioned online, and I haven't collected enough decks to measure different ones myself. I know the average size for most is around one inch, but I'm wondering if I should provide extra wiggle room for thicker decks, compensating for different cardstocks, adding room for guide book, etc. Would anyone like to take the time to …
