According to the Llewellyn website, this deck is forthcoming in October this year: "This deluxe, limited-edition, numbered kit is the most sought after deck of the year. Packaged in a stunning premium box, the cards combine the moody essence of the original deck with the addition of evocative splashes of blood red detailing." I'm curious if anyone knows the background of this deck? Since they refer to the differences between this edition and "the original deck" I assume another version has been in print before, but I'm not familiar with it. Thanks for any info!

Years ago late one night I was enjoying a drink, smoking, and free-form pulling cards. I accidentally grazed the back of this pack with a lit clove cigarette, permanently burning a blemish on the card. I still love and read with this one. What tarot blunders have damaged your decks unnaturally? Did you keep it your reading rotation? Pictured: Deck of the Bastard from TarotbySeven, LLC. This back is a custom choice and I believe no longer available. This is the standard sized, keyworded first edition. Keywords are both upright and reversed. Share your mishaps -- I cannot be the only one with a few tarot regrets.

I just saw Lisa Hunt is doing art for a new deck that is a collaboration with Lynn Araujo. Some additional card images can be seen on Lisa's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisahuntart/ The deck has the theme of "offering gentle lessons from the idyllic countryside." I saw the unboxing of the prototype deck of the Simple Tarot on Simon'S YouTube channel (Hermit's Cave), and I find this deck very interesting! Video ou YouTube: The Kickstarter project hasn't started yet, and the launch date is October 1 until October 31. Link to Kickstarter DRAFT Project: I'm not a newbie but I'll back the project on Day 1! I think it's a fun deck to have and it could be more than useful if I ever decide to teach tarot to others! What do you think?

The Lightseer's Tarot As previously mentioned, I received this deck for Winter Solstice December last. My first impression was very positive. Here is, what I initially wrote: Quoting myself here in the unboxing thread: The Light Seer's Tarot arrived!♥ A very sturdy box that survived the trip into the bush without any dents!♥ It fits the cards quite snug, but it is still easy to take them in and out. ♥ the card sized booklet is about 1 cm thick, has sturdy pages and fits well into said box.♥ The cards are amazing! A mat finish but still, the colours pop and there is no sticking ♥ The card pack thick -…

Does anyone have or have any experience with the American Renaissance Tarot? Being a bookish person, I am drawn to this tarot, though it seems it would be more of a personal reading deck than one used for others.

I'm not sure I'm in the right section, but I'll give it a go: What do you consider to be the most important quality in a tarot deck? On reflection, the quality of a tarot deck that matters most to me is the possibility of projecting myself into it. The ideal tarot deck is one that everyone can relate to. I'm looking for a tarot that's universal, so to speak. That's why I'm not so keen on photographic tarot decks, or those where the characters are too typical. I prefer images where the characters are schematized. Neutral, in a way. A little ambiguity allows everyone to imagine themselves in the card.

They say that if you want to know which Tarot deck a reader considers absolutely essential - either because he/she likes it to bits or reads a lot with it - just ask which decks that person has backup copies of. I know that's a bit simplistic, I mean there might have been a sale the said reader just can't say no to, but I believe the gist still applies. So how about you, which decks do you have duplicates of?

Do YOU have a perfect deck? Do you believe such a thing even exists? Over the years I've seen various newbies or even not so newbies in search of The Perfect Deck. A hero's journey like Arthur's quest for the Grail. I feel sympathy for beginners in this day and age. They might experience pressure to find The Perfect Deck to start reading. In my time, no such pressure existed. There was the plaid-back RWS. Full stop. Yes, historically there *were* other decks out there in the 1970s. TdM. Thoth. IJJ Swiss, but a newbie in USA wouldn't know these existed. Morgan Greer released in 1979, but as a newbie you wouldn't necessarily know to look for it.…

I'm just curious. Do you have any decks that are only locally available? Like it can only be purchased in your country for various reasons. Maybe because it's written in the vernacular, or it's a limited edition item that the publisher is not interested in exporting, or because its theme/s is/are very specific to your country. Pics are very much welcome.

I was looking for more decks that feature the male aspects of the Godhead, a topic that I've been exploring in great depth lately when I chanced upon the Yay Tarot, which claims to espouse the "Wisdom of the Divine Masculine". It seems like Marko and Filip Vasich have been working on it for years already tho the site states that it is "a full 78 card Tarot deck starting March 2018". I guess that means that it's going to be released next year? It's definitely very different from what I expected. I can almost swear that the Seven of Cups has boobs altho he has a visible penis. Not man boobs, but like female breasts. The Man of Swords also features some pony play (?!?). T…

This Sunday I plan on picking up a new deck!! (Even though I just got the Vice Versa deck two weeks ago). I’ll be buying the Gilded Tarot Royale. It’s a nostalgic deck for me, since the original was my very first tarot deck many years ago. Imo, the new version looks so much more amazing....and it’s borderless! (The original wasn’t, and i have a personal distaste for bordered cards 😅)

Hi! So someone close to me gave me a bunch of tarot decks she collected a while ago. One of them is older than me. It's called The Mythic Tarot A New Approach to the Tarot Cards by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene. I've got the cards, the hardback book, and a cloth with a spread on it. The copyright date says 1986 and the ISBN is 0 671 61863 6 Do I need to give any more information? Any information you could give me would be much appreciated! I really like this deck so I'm definitely keeping it but I really just like knowing things. Thanks again!

Hello, (Hoping I am not repeating a subject ) When I started using tarot - and it was a fight ;) - I was told to start with the great arcana. Funny enough, decks with only great arcana started to find their way to me only after I became really good at reading the whole deck. What are your experiences with such decks, what are your favorites? My newest one is my absolute favorite. I was lucky enough to get a Manga tarot, the Full Metal Alchemist deck. As I am a Manga nerd ;) this deck fits immediately to my idea of the fool's quest. Greetings Shade

Edition two of the (official) Homestuck Tarot is due in July, with all new art from the final acts. The back and border also changed, and they added playing card symbols. Like the previous, it's a collaborative fan art deck. Pre-order/images here. ETA: Many more images at the project blog. It looks like this time the deck was originally a fan project with no plans to sell, but it was picked up and officially licensed. I have the first ed., and prefer those earlier days, so may stifle my inner fangirl and stick with the one deck. But I'd be interested to know what others think...

I came across a couple of forthcoming decks while the forum was down and was so antsy to post them here! This one is from Cracked Amethyst, the maker of the Amethyst Oracle and I believe also the Idiosyncradeck. What fascinates me is that this is a 120 card deck, with 22 majors, 80 minors, and 16 courts, as well as 2 bonus cards. Why so many cards? Well, it looks like there are eight suits of minors! The suits appear to be Flowers, Crops, Cacti, Mushrooms, Medicinal, Herbs, Spices, and Poisons. Usually I would say this kind of very modern art style isn't for me, but this deck is so fascinating that I'm going to continue to keep an eye on it. (Also I actually do…

Alright, I'm here to set up something I've been really thinking about and that I think we could all benefit from. We have a great forum full of people who use all three of the "major" systems - TDM, RWS and Thoth. Thus, I figured we all should cross pollinate a bit and discuss, compare and contrast, the various cards within. First we'll be looking at is the Fool, though depending on the system even that is debatable. Please provide resources to help when necessary, and exchange information! Attached are the relevant card in all 3 forms, in case you don't have the deck. For those who are experts and know of a better image, I'll edit it here. …

Hi friends, There was a deck I ran across in the forum not that long ago and was thinking about it the other day and now I can't find it. I don't remember what it was called, but it was on the cartoon-side of the spectrum, and it was something like Unfortunate Tarot deck or something; all of the cards were light-hearted, but kinda just bad luck, like the unfortunate side of tarot. It was funny and I just can't remember what it was. Anyone know which one it might be? DrDunbar
