I admit it. This thread is about living vicariously through you, Lenormand Reader/Collector! X/ For now, I am very happy with my small collection of Lenormands (see profile for list). BUT....I would LOVE to hear about any in your collections, favorites, decks (ESPECIALLY NEW ONES) on your wish list. Indulge a Crone and share?

Hello, I cannot untangle this for myself. I did a 3x3 asking what my (female) boss had taken away from our discussion. The cards are astonishingly precise...except I keep being confused by the following: the Lady fell, but also the Bear. And suddenly I simply can't decide, can Lady still be me? I keep thinking no, because I am asking about what she does with our discussion, and so I read her as Lady - on the other hand as it was a discussion with me (and pretty heated too), it may seem natural I would be part of the picture. But I think she is the main actor of that reading, and therefore since Lady fell, it is her. Yes, I'm going circles, and…

I've learned so much about the Lenormand from him. It would be great to learn some more but all his former sites seem to be closed.

I've seen different methods for reading the *corners* of a Tableau. My question is about a 6x6 GT --- but I think it applies to any type of tableau. Let's call the corners: A, B for the top and X, Y for the bottom [left to right] Do YOU read AB XY [i.e. top pair and bottom pair] or AY BX [criss cross] maybe even ABYX [a circle] What is your favorite method?

Serge Pirotte is offering another Intro to Lenormand class this September. 7 weeks, $140. https://www.laetitiacartomancy.com/classes-1/p/learn-lenormand-with-lenormand-expert-serge-pirotte-f8c7m (I’m not affiliated with this class at all, other than as a happy student — I took this class and one on Belline from Serge last year. I’m taking this one again to strengthen my skills — Serge is SO good.)

The cards pictured above aren't all of the Clubs suit, obviously. They're just window dressing. ;) Clubs, in the original German suits, were Acorns. It's a hardship Suit. Preparing a meal of acorns is labor intensive and not worth the effort to people who are not starving. Clubs include the Clouds, Snake, Whips/Birchrods, Fox, Bear, Mountain, Mice, Ring, and Cross. While A few of these can be neutral sometimes, they can also carry extremely negative meanings. Lenormand is a little bendy sometimes. Scythe, for instance, is danger but it isn't a Club. But while some of these cards might also carry neutral meanings, the major, MAJOR malefics are Clouds …

Some decks have extra man and woman cards, I have read that some readers leave the extras in the deck in order to address same sex relationships. Do you always use just one man and one women in your decks or do you use extras as well. I also read that the Rider card 1 can represent a partner, more comonly a male, although I have seem decks that have a female rider. What other cards in the deck can be used for expressing a same sex relationship? I noticed in the Kipper decks there is at least an extra male card to represent an older man. How close in Kipper to Lenormand? I know that they share some common cards. I haven’t really studied Kipper cards, alt…

I was wondering how do the Lenormand communicate when they want you to stop. When you do lots of readings for an issue, or made many times the same question. Tarot have particular cards to tell you this. I was thinking that maybe they start to say things that don't make sense to you. Any ideas or experience?

The common wisdom I've read here is that the only *traditional* method of Lenormand is the GT and Method of Distance described by the original Philippe Lenormand instructions. I've been told that reading houses is a newer method which came in vogue recently. Yet the original Game of Hope [1799] laid a 6x6 tableau of the cards as houses. As a game, players rolled dice and moved a token around the tableau. Is it possible that fortune tellers might have started reading houses as per the Game of Hope tableau? Reading houses is documented in 1875 L'oracle Parfait [picture below]; but it has different houses than the Game of Hope and it's laid 9x4. …

Do you have a favorite spread that's your go-to? Favorite techniques you always use with certain spreads? By Spread I mean the shape you lay [line, tableau, pyramid, etc.] and by technique, things like mirroring, knighting, MOD, chaining, houses, etc. I've studied and tried many different spreads and techniques. Like everyone, I started with lines. I tried crosses. Pyramids. Traditional GT, etc. etc. The most common, 9-card tableau, I've never been able to read. Some techniques I use exclusively on Lines [mirroring] while other techniques I use on GTs [MOD, houses] After much trial and error my sweet spot is to lay a full GT over …

I know that some people read Lenormand with the card insets or at least the suit and a designation on the cards, other people don’t use the playing card insets at all. What is your preference? I don’t have very much experience to use the insets at this point. I’m not sure if I’m using the best book for learning fundamentals either. For me, at this point, trying to read the insets, would just clutter up my learning process. I watched a course on YouTube and the reader didn’t use the insets at all. He seemed to have a very strong knowledge of Lenormand. I’m trying to study it a little each day and doing the exercises in the book, Matthew’s really doesn’t go into the …

I recently had a Lenormand Grand Tableau reading done by a very experienced Lenormand reader about someone who I believe might be my twin flame, or at the very least, someone I have a strong past life connection with. Full disclosure: I am married, so I am not looking for a romantic relationship (of course, not all TF relationships are romantic anyway). But I do want to meet this person and become friends if at all possible because I feel like we have past life history together. Anyway, I do not know how to do GTs nor am I really good at this yet so that's why I went with a more experienced reader. He was great, and everything resonated with me. I was very sat…

I just purchased this on Kindle, currently 9.99 from 40. (On Amazon ca) The Complete Book of The Petit Lenormand: German Method https://a.co/d/2ffhdYf I actually saw it couple weeks and added it to my wish list. I been waiting for the 3 enclopedias to come on kindle, but still only in book form. I also was looking for a more German style as though I got andy b book, I was looking for more. At first thought was going to be fluffy after the preface, I'm just now getting to German suits which is what I really looking for. I know ttam forum mods in general put forth there is no lenormand school of learning. That i…

It strikes me how many cards Lenormand has for false friendships. Snake and Fox are both people who will lie to you, manipulate you, or trick you. And by the traditional Philippe Lenormand instructions, other cards like Bear or Dog can warn of disloyal or false friends when distant from the Person. Recently i've come to appreciate this quality of LN. Sorting through frenemies and gaslighting. It's not always obvious in Tarot ... but LN has cards exactly for that. Less clear in LN are employment or "work" cards. Which has spawned debate vis a vis. Moon, Fox, Anchor, etc. RWS style Tarot gives very clear employment cards: Kn Pents, Ace Pe…

Modern Lenormad its in vogue to include extra lord and lady cards ... and some decks have a non-binary person card. Ellada deck by Daniloff ... I just read it for the first time and was surprised to discover it has a different take on the extra cards. It has a masculine and feminine #28 Lord It has a feminine and masculine #29 Lady They're not exactly non-binary ... but I thought it was an interesting take. The gender-bending cards are both musicians.

I know this isn't really a thing. Mostly its just GT, smaller Tableaux, or Lines. But I've become curious about trying spreads with LN ... at least historic ones. @akiva you had sent me an historic spread called Grand Star in my PMs. You also mentioned Grand Cross as a LN spread ... are these 2 different spreads? If yes, how do you do Grand Cross? I saw a Youtuber do a LN Grand Cross but I trust your methods more than hers 😉

I'm kind of new to this type of divination. I am looking for a good, evocative, not too busy deck. I have a few decks, some beautiful, some busy, pixie's etc. Recently l am hooket on Lisa Loves Lenormand youtube channel and I just LOVE her teaching and finally Lenormand makes sense to me on a much deeper level. I like colorful and collage decks. Any recommandation please?

After banging my head against the wall on the the whole Fox vs. Moon as the LN Work card ... I've come to some Conclusions: Lenormand HAS no work card. Not like Tarot very kindly gives us 8 coins, Ace coins, Knight Coins. I REALLY REALLY wanted LN to "work" that way and give me at least ONE work card. But no. LN doesn't care how Tarot does it. I hate both Moon and Fox as "work" cards. Neither fits. Much respect to Andy B and Rana George ... but not for me. I think Rana added a Market card as an extra in her deck ... forget all the extra Lord and Lady cards ... add a Market card, please! So far I like @katrinka method of Anchor as a Job. As she …

Most LN cards have a timing aspect. Obviously, if my spread is specifically asking for a time frame ... I would go straight to that meaning of the card. BUT ... what if it's less clear? Frex in Tarot if I see an Ace I often take it as a timing message even thought the question didn't specifically relate to timing ... but with 45 years experience ... I have a good intuition about when to do this. How do YOU use LN as timing cards? This has come up with Fox in a spread which didn't really fit the standard meanings ... the 14 days timing meaning might be more pertinent than any of the other meanings ... but this seems a bit sloppy and "…

Hello All! So as I continue my more folklore/traditional type of Lenormand reading studies I am looking at “additional” reading techniques. Let us say Mirroring and Knighting though we can easily add Counting to this as well. Besides giving you additional information do they give you a type or specific kind of information? What drives this question is I am remembering reading, can’t say where I read this, the Knighting shows you information that is right around the corner, not in plain sight. So first off am I dreaming I read this? Second, I don’t always use additional techniques as I don’t always need additional information but that could change if they del…

I've been thinking of expanding my own personal Lenormand deck a little to include a few non-traditional cards. My main reason for this is that I think there are a few aspects of modern life that aren't well-represented because of changes in modern society, and a few cards that are overburdened with meanings that don't feel appropriate to the symbols they contain. My main bugbear is that there isn't really anything that represents technology or invention, which is a large factor in modern life. Can anyone else think of any concepts they feel are not adequately represented in Lenormand, or cards that have too many meanings that might be better split…

..My first Lenormand deck ..It did not come with the divinatory meanings or any card spreads. 😕 ..or an Introduction. I've watched numerous You Tube un wrapping videos but still can not get the cards and their meanings down. I guess I am newer than I thought to tarot because I didn't know decks could have a number card, a tarot card, a Glyph and a color all on one card to explain it's representation.

Hi , I recently bought the old Arabian Lenormand. It contains extra cards. One of them is a zero with a picture of spices. What does this mean? I thought there was only 36 cards.

Just wanted to share a Lenormand related story with you all. I am thinning out my Tarot collection so I asked my Lenormand deck where I should photograph these decks before I put them up on eBay. These are the cards I pulled: Whip + Cross + Fox I really had a hard time interpreting this one, initially. I took a step back from racking my brain and went down to make a cup of coffee. While in the kitchen, I thought maybe I should take them in the kitchen after thinking about the Whip and the Cross. Wasn't sold on it. So I walked into my dining room, crashed into the dog, and spilled coffee on my shirt. When I looked up to the sky to choke down my rage…
