Has anyone heard that Baba Studios is moving away from tarot completely? I just read on their Facebook page that they will transition into other things but will be completing all current tarot decks. I for one am very sad to hear the news. No reason has yet been given.

Hi all! I’m new to tarot and new to this community. I’ve started out with the RWS deck. I was wondering what some of your favorite decks are and why? I’m a big visual person. Once I start to feel more comfortable with the cards, I want to get another deck that I visually connect with. thank you!! 💓

This is a hypothetical question, for me, since I have no children and no access to any that I might teach tarot to, but talking to FreyjaVanir[/member] about the Crystal Unicorns deck made me wonder. There's plenty of decks I might be careful to keep away from a young child - Finland (where I am) doesn't really have a taboo against non-sexualised nudity, so that wouldn't be enough to make me put a deck on a high shelf, but there are some fairly dark or sexual decks out there that I think we can agree we wouldn't let a nine-year-old play with! - but I can't think of many that are not just child-friendly, but also easily readable. Other than the aforementioned Crystal U…

I was just perusing Kickstarter, and it looks like MANY of the deck campaigns currently underway are likely to fail. Of course, there are many wildly successful campaigns as well...but I wondered whether people think Kickstarter has become oversaturated with tarot decks? That there are just too many decks and not enough people interested in funding them? I know some people have also mentioned their wariness of crowdfunding platforms...so maybe these creators could reach a greater audience by taking a different approach to funding their decks?

Not all hands can shuffle standard sized decks, and not all bags (or pockets) can fit them either. Coincidentally I fit into neither category but, no matter how much I call it a blackhole, my handbag already has enough stuff in it without adding a full sized deck to it 😂 So, for all those similarly challenged, let us glory in the diminutive and compile a list of perfectly petite decks! What mini decks do you know of? What are your favourites? They can be any size as long as they are either smaller than a standard tarot deck or smaller than the original eg. Baroque Bohemian Cats mini. As the lovely Katrinka has mentioned, if you're after…

Right now, mine is probably the Aquarian. Love the deck, but I have a few I gravitate to and, for some reason, it just isn't the Aquarian right now. Which of your decks tends to get stuck in the corner, at least right now?

Hi! So someone close to me gave me a bunch of tarot decks she collected a while ago. One of them is older than me. It's called The Mythic Tarot A New Approach to the Tarot Cards by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene. I've got the cards, the hardback book, and a cloth with a spread on it. The copyright date says 1986 and the ISBN is 0 671 61863 6 Do I need to give any more information? Any information you could give me would be much appreciated! I really like this deck so I'm definitely keeping it but I really just like knowing things. Thanks again!

Which among the decks in your collection is the T H I C C -est, i.e. has the most number of cards? Do you feel like they're too complex and that they require more effort to learn? How often do you read with them? Would you recommend them? I love <3 decks with lots of cards! Extra majors, Happy Squirrels, extra courts, extra suits even - these all set my avaritious heart aflutter.

I saw a discussion like this elsewhere and wanted to bring it here...what's the story of your first tarot deck? What was the deck, how did you come by it, what drew you to it, etc.

Anyone else interested in compiling a list of decks made by taking an artist's existing body of work and assigning them to cards? Regardless of how you feel about this type of deck, I still think its a good thing to know about a deck that you own or are considering, and its not always immediately obvious. The List so far: Nicoletta Ceccoli Manara Edmund Dulac Banksy John Bauer WPA (Kickstarter; various art deco posters) Rackham The Hieronymus Bosch (Kickstarter, some editing to isolate elements or for restoration purposes) VTP (Kickstarter; various vintage posters) Fantastic Menagerie (J.J. Gran…

Does anyone else remember the good old days when gorgeous tarot decks were being released slowly...so we could all ooh and ahh and save our pennies...for that handful of decks we wanted? Now...I swear there is like, three decks a day that show up on my radar...that I am coveting them ALL because everything is unique and amazing. Maybe I am exaggerating slightly...but not really. I took a year off from tarot...and I'm afraid I will never catch up now. Are there really more artists creating more decks...or is it my imagination? Do creators have better outlets on social media for being seen? Does kickstarter factor into it mo…

TAROT of the OLD PATH is beautiful, I like the kind of pagan/nature aspects, but it just missed the mark for being what I look for in a reading deck. I COULD read with it, just wasn't one of the decks that just flowed for me. Anyone else have a deck that JUST missed the mark once you got it?

Which one was your very first type of deck you used tarot, oracle, cartomancy, lenormand etc? For me the very very first type of readings and deck i used was when i was still underaged i think i was somewhere between 15-17 i was doing a type of cartomancy with a literally handmade poker deck i made which later i replaced with a nice one i found with a nice black detail and backing it was a popular type of readings we were doing in Greece there was a standard one which was the most popular cause it had its very theirs meanings to each card and way of reading and i think it was also an addition to some ppl who where also doing coffee cup readings here a celtic cross an…

I've been quietly searching for a plant themed tarot deck (or even maybe a substantial oracle ie more than 40 or so cards) for a while now. So far I've been unsuccessful. Maybe I've been looking in the wrong place... I'd really like to find something with the old botanical print style of image and a decent guidebook with information about each plant. I'd maybe be open to something else as long as the guidebook is up to scratch though. Any suggestions?

All right - I feel fully *enabled* now to start this thread... Consider yourself duly warned!! This is a place to post questions, comments, salivations and solicitations about the decks that are our and others' objects of (potential) desire.... So I'll get us started off... do I really need to save up all my lunch money for the next 10 months to nab a copy of the Victorian Romantic? And if so: does it matter which edition??? Hi everyone, I'm hoping to pick your collective brains about decks that may be out there that would suit what I need. I've been studying the RWS deck system using Holistic Tarot, with the Llewellyn Classic as my deck. Although I know it's not a RWS clone, it's closer to a traditional RWS deck than I've ever owned. I just really struggle to read a lot of the cards intuitively, which isn't helped by my abysmal rote learning abilities. I'm wondering if the deck is to blame. I'm wondering if I should pick up a proper RWS/RWS clone (I've heard good things about the Centennial Waite) and hope that the closer match of symbolism will work bette…

The title says it all! I’d love to hear what decks you find yourself going to again and again for readings (for yourself, and others). I’m deeply in love with the Deviant Moon Tarot right now, and find myself reaching for it again and again for myself, and for people who I don’t think will be spooked by it. The Light Seer’s Tarot always gives me solid readings, and I love how it lends itself to intuitive reading (much like the Deviant Moon). And generally, I find it suits almost anyone who comes for a reading. For really fun, light readings, I love Mystical Medleys. It also is so close to a traditional RWS that it’s a nice tool for re…

What do you think of majors-only Tarot decks? Which are your favorites? How many do you have in your collection, and how often do you use them? I know that there are some Tarot books that focus solely on the majors, but I wonder how decks like these are often used by my fellow readers. I know that they're useful for meditation and pathworking. I believe that there are also some spreads in which only majors are used.

Hi, everyone What's the most disappointing deck that you ever bought? Mine is Tarot of the Old path. The majors are pretty, but the Minors are "meh"; I was disappointed in their lack of background imagery.
