This is a poll, plan and simple. A head count. Not a discussion thread. not a "merit" thing. Just - which deck did you use most last year. You may name two, but not more than two. And one should be a tarot deck, please. If you name more, I will only count the first two.. I do not want to know why, but if you have a truly exciting reason, you can PM me with it ! Please, just name it. At the end of the month (as in February 1, so everyone gets a WHOLE month) I will simply count them and post the result. I was going to put up a poll - but realised that as I have no idea which decks might come up - I can't.

I don't believe I've seen a thread about this deck...I just came across the forthcoming Spirit Keeper's Tarot by Benebell Wen. The cards look symbol-rich and quite unique. https://benebellwen.com/spirit-keepers-tarot/

I don't think we have a thread like this yet. I thought it would be interesting to have an ongoing, editable, thread to keep tabs of our personal favorites. And also we will be able to see how our favorites compare with others. This thread should not be confused with other thread that discuss "Top Ten Decks" of such-and-such year, or the "Top Ten of All Time", threads. These are your personal favorites that may be subject to change. If you can, simply edit your original post with your updated favorites and continue the discussion with why, when, how, your deck(s) appeal to you in subsequent posts. This could be a great thread! I'm looking forward …

Hi everyone. Just wanted to know if anyone has ever had an experience like this. A couple years ago, I came across the Dark Grimoire Tarot. I liked the artwork on the box, so I said "ok, I'll give it a try". When I got it home and went through the deck, it made me so uneasy that I had to put it away for a couple of days before I could even look at it again, Around that time, I started having a bit of bad luck (nothing life changing, just minor annoyances). While I can't attribute it to the deck itself, I wonder if my negative feelings toward it ( and my anger at myself for wasting 25 bucks) caused more negativity to gather around me. Ultimately, I ended up throwing t…

Which decks that are going to be published next year have you already included in your to-buy list? Here are mine, along with their estimated release months: 1. Magical Dogs Tarot (September) 2. Game of Thrones Tarot (March) 3. Tarot de Maria Celia (?) 4. Vampirella Tarot (January) And for oracles: 1. The Wild Unknown Animal Spirit (March) I may have missed some lol. So what are yours? Include 2018 indie decks if you wish. :)

Hi friends! I received the John Bauer Tarot as a Winter Solstice / my B-day present and – since C-19 is now dancing into C-21 I need a little something to sink my teeth in and explore. In no particular order I will post my thoughts, impressions and questions about this deck. You are all invited to chime in♥ So let's get together and check out this little wonder.

If you know that you have to perform a very important reading that needs to be extremely accurate, which deck would you reach for? If push comes to shove and the clock is ticking, which would you choose to make your Hail Mary pass? It can be a deck you feel a very strong rapport with or which has a high batting average, or maybe it has given you very clear and straightforward readings.

As I've collected decks I find the ones that have changed the symbolism significantly are can be challenging. They require more mental processing. If they are in RWS family but diverge from what the cards usual definitions are it can sometimes be daunting. I like to be able to pick up a deck and read it without too much translation. Sometimes they change the card suits into other symbols that don't translate immediately to what suit they are supposed to be. Like the Yuletide Tarot changed the suits into Good Cheer, Candy Canes, Candles, and Presents. It's not immediate apparent as to how what objects correlate with Cups, Swords, Wands, and Pentacles. I li…

My oldest deck is a Rider Waite Smith that I bought from the local hippie shop when I was about 15. I never learned to read with it, and when I unearthed it many years later when I was again feeling the call to learn tarot, I couldn't manage to connect with it. (The first deck that I really connected with and therefore learned to read with was Kris Waldherr's Goddess Tarot, which I still love!) Since starting to read I pull out my RWS occasionally to look at the symbolism, but I still don't read with it. But lately...I've been feeling more drawn to the RWS, and I'm wondering if maybe a different version of the deck or perhaps a clone would work better for me. Since a …

It's true! There's an edition of Shadowscapes out that is slightly bigger! The catch, though, is that it's not in English. But, it does exist - the Czech edition of Shadowscapes is bigger & gilded in gold! It's so lovely. The image in the top right shows how the card, with the borders fits right into the space the image gets on the Czech version. So, it's basically as if it was printed the same size, but borderless as for as the size of the image. Except it keeps the borders and gets loooooovely gold edges! The card stock is a bit thicker as well. I got mine on eBay, so I don't know if it's even easily available these days, but if you love Sha…

John Bauer (1882-1918) was one of the most appreciated Swedish artists and illustrators of the early XX century. His artwork, contemporary to those of Pamela “Pixie” Smith, brought to life a world of sweet and dark myth and folklore, where fairytales blend with pre-raphaelite imfluences. John Bauer died at the age of 36 in the Lake Vättern, in his beloved Sweden. 78 full colored cards & instructions

Finally found it. Usually they publish the new catalog around December/January on https://issuu.com/, but it wasn't posted this year. I randomly found the 2022 catalog here: https://fonixmusik.com/media/download/scarabeo.pdf The great thing is that you can easily download it this time, and I attached the .pdf file to this post in case the link goes dead. Enjoy! CatLoScarabeo22.pdf

Do YOU have a perfect deck? Do you believe such a thing even exists? Over the years I've seen various newbies or even not so newbies in search of The Perfect Deck. A hero's journey like Arthur's quest for the Grail. I feel sympathy for beginners in this day and age. They might experience pressure to find The Perfect Deck to start reading. In my time, no such pressure existed. There was the plaid-back RWS. Full stop. Yes, historically there *were* other decks out there in the 1970s. TdM. Thoth. IJJ Swiss, but a newbie in USA wouldn't know these existed. Morgan Greer released in 1979, but as a newbie you wouldn't necessarily know to look for it.…

If you were to choose three to five decks for the keen tarot student, who wanted a well rounded education with a good cross-section of styles/general philosophy/card meanings... what would be your selection?

We are approaching the Autumn Equinox here, the nights are drawing in and it's cooler outside. We are starting to see mists and wet grass in the mornings, trees are losing their leaves and mushrooms have started appearing. We are not quite at this tree colour level here yet 🍂 What are your favourite tarot decks to use during this season? Also which decks and cards are best themed for Autumn / Fall? This season encompasses Samhain / Halloween at the end of October. Wanted to collect the best decks for this season in this thread. We will do a season every 3 months, so people can share their decks for that themed season and ou…

I never thought I would regret buying any deck, but I regret having paid what I paid for this: The cards and the booklet are good quality. The cards are big, but I really think this was a waste of money. Have you regretted any purchases this year?

They say that if you want to know which Tarot deck a reader considers absolutely essential - either because he/she likes it to bits or reads a lot with it - just ask which decks that person has backup copies of. I know that's a bit simplistic, I mean there might have been a sale the said reader just can't say no to, but I believe the gist still applies. So how about you, which decks do you have duplicates of?

Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I've visited this forum. I find myself wanting to read the cards again, but most of my decks are more of the quirky, fairytale variety and I'm longing for something darker in imagery, possibly also in actual readings. I'm turning 30 this year and my inner emo/goth kid is desperate to come out after years of negligence, so I think this is an aspect of that desire 😁 I like vampires, skeletons, horror movies & books and generally spooky stuff so something featuring unsettling artwork should be right up my alley. I prefer the RWS system and anything commercially available, but if you know of any amazing indi…

Have YOU ever gotten or seen a deck that viscerally repelled you? I don't mean just "nah, it didn't resonate". I mean like, "Eww. Gross, Get it away from me!" To explain: I recently got sent a deck by mistake. I tired to return it to the vendor but they never sent the return postage label -- so I finally just opened the package to have a look. It's the Tarot Ocsuro. While I appreciated some of the artwork, the deck itself repulsed me. I found myself with a visceral negative reaction to some of the motifs the artist used [WHY the criss-cross bandages over nipples???] I understand the deck is supposed to be a Shadow deck. I got no prob…
