Hope I'm posting this in the correct forum - apologies mods if I'm in the wrong place :-[ There's been a pattern in my life where I get very attracted and attached to people with whom I form unhealthy friendships. This started in the earliest friendship I can remember, and I just ended yet another one in December 2017. These "friendships" often occur alongside genuine ones and, at times, overshadow them, as I become somewhat "enchanted" by these persons and will do everything in my power to please them and make them happy. I am extremely weary of this pattern and I'm seeking to put an end to it this year. While I am familiar with cutting cords with people, and have…

PSYCHIC TWINS: Terry and Linda Jamison My first time ever being exposed to them and I must say they ought to be ashamed of themselves. Friggin heck - no wonder some think Psychic Mediums are fakes and frauds. Do not blame anyone if these two are anything to go by at all. Seriously. Has anyone ever seen these two in action? The first video I saw of them was passable, but I had some real misgivings not to mention their dress attire put me off straight away. The same outfits and at their age? No individualism? VIDEO ONE: The following video, however, is very unsettling and a true cringe factor: 1) They are not objective. 2) Too many biases. 3) Trance …

I've been going through a rough time these last several months but up to tonight I've continued to walk through it as just that, a rough spot. There have been many odd things happening along with the negativity and bad luck in my home. My husband and myself haven't been the same since we moved in our new home. For some reason though, I've disregarded so much that is odd, but last night really stood out and made me ask myself what is going on? So this is what happened.. I was totally exhausted mid day again, which is a theme in our new house too. I go to bed and can't find the remote. Nothing unusual really. I moved every pillow knowing it should be right there and fo…

Do you have any spiritual encounters that defies explanations? For instance, an encounter with angels or your spirit guides? I have one such experience, it was an encounter with Jesus. For me, I was at this birthday party of a christian friend. The friend suddenly asked if anyone had any word from Jesus. Suddenly, I was prompted to go to this unknown person in the party and tell her to be a social worker. I was very frightened for I knew nothing about the girl. But the prompting from Jesus was strong. So, being the coward that I was, I went to the girl and asked her if she had anything to do with social work. The girl revealed that she always wanted to be a soci…

I've got a friend who is going through a nasty divorce (her husband was cheating on her while she supported him for the last two years to get his Masters degree). Now that all his stuff is gone, she would like to go through and 'cleanse and bless' each room. She's not looking for anything religious, but would like to feel like this is now her home. Any ideas for blessing a home?

Here's an Al-Anon concept that I remind myself of frequently ;): Q-TIP QUIT - TAKING - IT – PERSONALLY “Most of the time, we are bit players in other people’s dramas.” ~ Rick Hansen “Don’t take anything personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering… Even the opinions you have about yourself are not necessarily true; therefore you don’t need to take whatever you hear in your own mind personally.” ~ Miguel Ruiz “If we are honest with ourselves, we have to admit that sometim…

Hello: I am wondering if there is anyone who is a Muslim, or was raised Muslim on this forum? I read the tarot years ago, and I was quite adept at it. I later gave up the tarot for my religious beliefs. I now feel a pull to come back to tarot, but I feel a religious conflict in doing so. Has anyone else felt this experience? Salaam Emilija

I thought I would open up the floor to some discussion on spirit guides and guiding angels :D I'll start :D Angels... I don't have much experience with them but I know I have some hanging around... Simeon - my personal guardian angel. I first met him during a mediation years ago. The colour I associate with him is indigo. Archangel Ariel/Azeal - I'm not quite sure which, possibly both, I can see the influence of both of them throughout my life. They are another I met through meditation Archangel Barachiel - I don't know much about her but she came up in an oracle reading on AT as an image of a woman with rose petals all around her. I had no idea who this w…

From the Elements of Recovery booklet: Trustworthiness To be trustworthy means to be dependable and responsible. It is a quality earned only through respectful relationships. The three “Cs” encompass trustworthiness: 1. Credibility – Do we avoid distorting the facts when we tell about an event or pass along information? For instance, do we exaggerate details (to make us look good) or leave out details (to keep us from looking bad)? We need to be honest to be credible. 2. Consistency – Do we follow up our intentions and promises in a timely manner with action? 3. Consideration – Do we keep confidences and avoid gossiping? Do we contact others when we realize w…

The information below came from a talk given by Dr. Kristen Neff: Self-esteem refers to our sense of self-worth, perceived value, or how much we like ourselves. For years it was seen as the ultimate marker of psychological health. Yet high self-esteem can be problematic. In American culture, high self-esteem requires us to feel special and above average. Using such a measurement scale, we must find ways to puff ourselves up and put others down. It’s no wonder studies have shown a sharp rise in narcissism and bullying in the last few years. And what happens when we fail? We feel lousy about ourselves. Yet there is a way to embrace ourselves, faults and all: self-comp…

I've been involved with Buddhism, a little paganism and read about other religions (and went to Sunday School a long time ago) but find the strongest attraction to Tarot, Oracles etc. and doing a reading is about the only thing I can do to help anyone else. There's no fixed dogma, hierarchy, leaders, agreement on a single correct deck or meanings, but there's a lot of personal development and wisdom to be found. What do the rest of you think?

Do you have any rituals or ceremonies you perform on special days, like Christmas, your birthday, the equinoxes/solstices, eclipses, and the like? I don't really have any, altho I usually cleanse my working tools with incense around the first or last day of the month. I also include the reveal and consecration of any brand new deck I want to work with during this time. I perform special Tarot readings on some holidays, like a Months of the Year spread on New Year's, and different spreads on Samhain and on my birthday. Let's not forget the excellent Sacred Days of Midsummer Reading Group that RavenOfSummer hosts on the days surrounding the summer solstice. This …

I noticed a tendency in myself during hurricane Mary to hope the storm would take a more westerly track for the excitement and change in routine and interpreted this yearning to be unconstructive in the empathic sense. In cultivating empathy I thought I might pluck out of myself the response to the news of the hurricane's whereabouts by dwelling on the symptom and consciously making the distinction between excitement for myself and excitement that may be unwelcomed by other people. Already I feel better for having made this post and putting the symptom in perspective.

According to checkiday.com, Oct. 1st is "Less Than Perfect Day:" "Less Than Perfect Day is a day to accept that it's okay to not be perfect. Some people are perfectionists who are very hard on themselves if they make a mistake, and some people are okay with their faults. No matter where you fall on that spectrum, today is a day to remember that we all make mistakes and that we should try hard at everything we do, but not so hard as to stress ourselves out. Spend the day trying to keep yourself from stressing out about things you aren't perfect at. It might be a day to challenge yourself to try new and difficult things, because at the same time you will be focusing o…

I hope I'm putting this post in the right place...I don't really see my lunar connection as part of astrology (though maybe it is?) and it is a spiritual connection, one that calls to my soul, so I thought it belonged here more than Chatter Room. But feel free to move if it should be somewhere else :) This full moon time feels especially powerful to me. When I mentioned this to my husband, he pointed out that it's the first full moon since the total solar eclipse, so maybe that has something to do with it. (We traveled together to the path of totality to see the eclipse, and it was maybe the most beautiful and powerful thing I have ever seen.) I was reading some t…

Do any of you do anything to celebrate or honor the equinox? I'm really wanting to in some way. I've been researching some new to me fallish recipes to make a big dinner for my little family and I'm afraid the list is a wee bit overboard. ;D I also homeschool, so was planning to take my girls out for a real nature walk and talk about all the things that would be changing as the weeks go by and why. Start the oldest with a nature journal and try to document the changes. Just somehow incorporate it all together as a way to honor the day and make it educational. Is there anything special that you do or would like to do? :)

I've read that if you maintain poor boundaries in your personal life, you will be considered weak and an easy target in "the spiritual realm." If this is in fact true, how does one develop stronger boundaries spiritually? I understand that one first has to be able to say "no" and be a lot more assertive in the earthly dimension. But does that mean the same applies if you feel a presence trying to invade your personal space? Does simply saying "No!" and "This is not my energy, and these are not my thoughts" sufficient? Or is there more we need to do in order to protect ourselves from "astral bullies?"

Hi lovelies Does anyone have any experience with dragons as guides? All I know about mine so far is she is female and fiery. I was drawn to buy a small iron pyrite shaped like a dragons head a few weeks ago and today pulled the Queen of Wands as one of my daily draw cards, but other than that I don't know much about her or how to find out more. She seems relatively gentle so far I think. She also seems content to let me muddle along trying to figure her out. I feel I need a bit more direction though. Any thoughts? ♡ Fee

Every night around the same time (and sometimes at random moments during the day or night) I begin to yawn. I started to notice more that when I do it I'm thinking of someone else and feeling a bit anxious. Could it be a form of energy vampirism? Maybe they are thinking badly of me or in close proximity of me and somehow draining my energy? If so, how do you protect yourself? Is being aware of it and putting up a protective shield enough? Or should more be done?

I help run a recovery group that is inclusive (anyone with a pattern of behavior they are trying to change is welcome); it focuses on spiritual principles rather than religion or the 12 steps. It's more for people who have been in recovery (no longer at the 'white-knuckle' stage) and are looking to recover their joy. My personal feeling about spirituality is that it is first and foremost a practice that helps me grow and get out of self-absorption, instead of a Santa bag that gives me things I want. I thought I would post some of the topics we talk about here (I generally talk about what I need to work on!). I learn from other folk's input, even when it differs from mine…
