Lenormand is a language. That's for sure. But I was wondering if we could translate certain phrases into the cards. At the end of the introduction of her book, Caitlín Matthews writes: "in translating my good wishes for your progress into Lenormand cards, may I wish you Clover + Sun + Anchor". That's what normally we are required to do: translate the messages from the cards. What about, as an interpretative exercise, do the reverse? For example, as a start: the dating app Tinder would be the Roads + the Heart + the Scythe (options + love + swift decision). What can you come up with?

The Golden Lenormand Oracle by Lo Scarabeo is going to be released early next year, right after the holidays. It was originally scheduled to come out this month, but like the Tarocchino Mitelli, it's been delayed. I hope this one pushes through, as I can't wait to get it in my hands. :) With gold foil background impressions similar to the ones found in the Golden Universal Tarot (which I also have), this promises to be a treat. Is this the very first metallic Lenormand? It doesn't have huge slabs of foil like in metallic Tarot decks, so it assures that the bling won't be a distraction when you work out your combinations. So what do you think?

I have spent time looking for lenormand decks that I found interesting on etsy edited in 2019, may 3. I skipped any lenormand that had like for example 42 cards instead of 36,, I also skipped older looking decks for I really want some beautiful decks, that said, I skipped a deck that was too modern, the rider was riding a motorcycle bike ! that I dont' mind but perhapsit was the way it was presented.

Hi! I have been doing research on Lenormand decks for several days - I just now hear about them. I really love the Gilded Reverie Expanded Deck by Marchetti. I have read a little of this forum but not much about this deck. I am buying Andy Boroveshengra's book because it was recommended for beginners. Is anyone familiar with the Gilded Reverie deck and can tell me if I can learn using it? I am not a brand new oracle card user and the one deck I use the most is read like Lenormand spreads. This will tell you how out of touch I am. Apparently this deck has been selling for a year or so, and I just bumped into it by chance! It has the extra, sexed up Man and Woman cards of the original and long OOP self-published edition, plus a few other additional cards. So --who else has it, who uses it? Love, hate, meh?

Based on the idea that the Tower does not mean bureaucracy, which card (or combination of them) would mean that? The Tower is said to mean buildings of high importance, including courthouses and government buildings. How to express bureaucracy, officialdom and even hierarchy, using the Tower? Similarly, how to represent the establishment, and all sorts of hierarchical systems, the “order” of things? Is there a need for another card to convey these ideas? If so, which ones? And, because I'm talking about the Tower: can it signify aloofness? What about chain-stores?

I been thinking of how no card means sex, though in some books it is listed. But imagine in the context of the question. You just met a person and planning to do the deed. So you ask the question.. lets assume client is 100 percent on board for the deed. I wondered as i sit here in the car what the other cards might mean.. I've been thinking of expanding my own personal Lenormand deck a little to include a few non-traditional cards. My main reason for this is that I think there are a few aspects of modern life that aren't well-represented because of changes in modern society, and a few cards that are overburdened with meanings that don't feel appropriate to the symbols they contain. My main bugbear is that there isn't really anything that represents technology or invention, which is a large factor in modern life. I wasn't too sure where to post this, so I hope it's in the right place. I have both Lenormand and Kipper decks. The Kipper, for some reason, has felt more accessible and easier to read with, but I am going to dive a bit more deeply into Lenormand and see if I can get comfortable with that system, too. Hi everyone, I’m curious how different readers approach the people cards and what’s your reasoning for choosing to read one card as a person and not the other. On this forum, I’ve encountered multiple mentions of the “social card + person card” combo approach. According to it, a card can be read as a person if it’s connected with the House, the Dog, the Lilly, the Moon and the Park (correct me if I’m wrong?). If you utilize this method, do you consider only those cards that touch the person card or also look at the mirroring/knighting cards as well? The title says it: Did you come across them? One which made itself known in a little circle is the mountain-coffin (in an otherwise positive 5 card reading, beeing located in the middle). It is the end of a blockade, like a mountain crumbling. It does not feel nice, yet enables to move on. On the other hand, the mountain-mice never appeared with a heads up: The card following it is strongly impeded in its functionality. Which ones did pop up/made themselves known in your readings?

It strikes me how many cards Lenormand has for false friendships. Snake and Fox are both people who will lie to you, manipulate you, or trick you. And by the traditional Philippe Lenormand instructions, other cards like Bear or Dog can warn of disloyal or false friends when distant from the Person. Recently i've come to appreciate this quality of LN. Sorting through frenemies and gaslighting. It's not always obvious in Tarot ... but LN has cards exactly for that. The common wisdom I've read here is that the only *traditional* method of Lenormand is the GT and Method of Distance described by the original Philippe Lenormand instructions. I've been told that reading houses is a newer method which came in vogue recently. Yet the original Game of Hope [1799] laid a 6x6 tableau of the cards as houses. As a game, players rolled dice and moved a token around the tableau. Is it possible that fortune tellers might have started reading houses as per the Game of Hope tableau? Reading houses is documented in 1875 L'oracle Parfait [picture below]; but it has different houses than the Game of Hope and it's laid 9x4. …
