I love the music links! It's a wonderful touch, Toadie and Marisa! I have playlists I listen to when I read. If I have a few readings back to back (3 or 4) I really get in the zone and light the incense, put on a wax melt, and fire up my playlists. Even though Industrial music is my favorite music (Rammstein is my favorite band) but for card reading I like music from India, Binaural beats and other types of mind music and trip hop.

This thread is intended to inspire those of us who like to make our own tarot bags. Like, if you were lusting after a very rare OOP deck for quite some time and what is currently available through Amazon/eBay/etc are horrendously, brazenly priced, and suddenly you spot a copy that's clearly counterfeit but does not really differ from the original quality-wise, would you give it a go? Hi readers ;) I read somewhere that the average tarotreader have about 44 tarot decks! I started reading about 4 months ago - and I have 6 tarot decks (and 4 oracle decks). How many do you have?

I am wondering whether this is possible or the outcome of the spread is too biased, as long as the querent and the reader is the same person...

My guess is they do. I am mostly sticking with decks based on Rider Waite, but purchased the Goddess Deck today, and after perusing it I am struck that a number of the cards would give a different reading than straight RWS.

Hi everyone I remember reading somewhere that you should put your cards back in order after a reading to remove the vibes from that reading and cleanse them for next time. I used to do this, but it got to be way too much trouble. Now, I just put the cards away as they are, which doesn't seem to be affecting my readings at all. What do you all do? Do any of you do this, or have any other rituals or practices for putting your cards away?

Hi All, I've read that if you do not read tarot (specifically the RWS) with reversals, that you are missing out on a true reading and other levels. However I have a question about how this works. Let's say a card accidentally gets reversed. At what point does it get back up? Or do you just forever keep it reversed? Or do you put it back upright once you've pulled it? And also, it is absolutely necessary to read with reversals?

Thought it would be interesting to see everyone's Tarot year card for 2019. I'm sure many of know how to calculate this, but I came across three methods posted by MareSaturni at AT. I've now used my own birthday which is June 26 and will use the year 2018 in the examples. I have no idea which one is the most accurate. The tread started by MareSaturni engendered a long debate. It seems like I'm seeing the "Fall Out Method" or "Jumpers" of getting cards for a reading a lot lately, and it got me wondering a few things... If you use this method: - why do you use this method? - how do you know you aren't just shuffling the cards sloppily? - does it not confuse the reading to have an unknown quantity of cards at each position? (Say I was doing a Celtic Cross, it seems it'll be far less confusing to have 1 card for each position that I can then relate to other positions rather than say 2, 3 or even 4 cards for a position that I then need to try and relate to other positions.) At the moment reading Enrique Enriquez's book of tarot interviews "EN TEREX IT" (Encounters around the Tarot vol 1 - highly recommended!). In his discussions with Mary K Greer and Todd Landman the topic of "cold reading" techniques comes up which got me interested in researching that a bit further. As I understand it cold reading basically = the art of fishing for personal information from clients and using that in combination with a bit of neuroliguistic programming to enhance the perception of possessing psychic powers. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I couldn't find any other sections it seemed to fit into. So I'm finding most of my readings to be inaccurate. Many of them relate to things that have yet to pass as they refer to them as a bigger picture, but when I'm doing readings about my day or week or mind/body state they don't happen or aren't accurate. I've heard people say that the cards never lie and if the reading seems inaccurate it's because you aren't looking at the message the cards are sending. But if, for instance, I ask what my day will be like and I get 2 of cups it suggests romance or budding friendships and nothing like that happens…

Lately, I have been feeling that Tarot is mirroring me and reflecting my subconscious more than telling me about the future. I do understand that the future is not set in stone and that things can change according to our energies. But sometimes with the readings I feel hopeless because it mostly shows me what I want to see. If I dont want to encounter a situation and ask for the future outcome, the resultant card would be a No. If I do want to encounter the situation, the resultant card would be a Yes.
