If you're looking for a modern TdM deck, I just found (and backed) Tarot Morandi on Kickstarter. The creator is an animator and illustrator, and it shows in the deck's art. The campaign ends on August 4.

I just received a Lo Scarabeo update about another upcoming Fabio Listrani deck. I don't have any of his decks, though at least both his Tarot decks seem to have quite a following around here. Anyway, since a picture is worth a thousand words, here it is. They say it will have "special silver and black effects," by which I understand that there will be metallic black touches as well as silver.

This is a Kickstarter for a full size, full color edition of the previously limited Majors-only Mushroom Tarot. I think the artist has done a wonderful job translating the RWS cards with the spirit of mushrooms for a deck that is simultaneously unique yet familiar. As of this posting, there are still early bird rewards available. I also love the way he’s incorporating wildlife into the court cards. I think this will end up being a very special deck. I’m not usually one for RWS clones, but this one just has a certain something and I’m excited to get my hands on it.

I have not been buying new decks lately, but this one on Amazon got my eye: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/0646804286/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It seems to be some kind of independent printing of a Pam-C scan, as far as I can tell. (No big connoisseur, moi; I just used these as comparison: https://www.wopc.co.uk/tarot/rider-waite/rider-waite-early-editions.) The backs show a sort of mandala on an indigo background. The cardstock is linen, though a bit on the flimsy side, and easily scratched, and the finish is not exactly glossy (and I don't think there is any kind of lamination at all), but …

We’re nearing the end of another decade and it got me thinking of the decks published during it. 2010-2019 was the decade where I did the bulk of my collection buying. It seems to have been a decade of real explosion in the amount of new decks on offer. With that in mind, are there any decks from this decade which you think are the new classics? Any which will date quickly? Some of the more innovative decks which spring to mind are Tarot of the Holy Light and Tarot of the Silicon Dawn - both changed the structure of what we think of as ‘tarot’ and brought interesting new elements. No-one really talks about them now though. …

This is a lovely deck done in an abstract style that I've been watching come together on the artist's tumblr. It's now done and they've put it up on MPC! https://corvidey.tumblr.com/post/621909139542753280/corvidey-linktree (Alas, the tumblr theme makes the post difficult to read.) It took about a month or so for my last MPC order to get to me, as a benchmark. The plus side of MPC is you can view the entire deck before buying. I've generally been pleased with the quality I get from MPC, but of course it does come down to what the artist submitted for print (true of any indie deck, in the end).

So, my Mom's birthday is coming up and this is the first since her husband (I refuse to call the man father) passed in December. Mom is what I would describe as a New Age-y Christian white witch. Mom used to be into the tarot before B, and she stopped because he insisted it was demonic or some bs. She has squeed over my Tarot and oracle collection, and I wish I could afford to get her the one I know she would love (The Last Unicorn deck but $100 is outside my budget lol). I remember when I was 15 and we went to Salem while visiting family, she went into all the witchy shops and cooed over the tarot decks and oracles. I asked why didn't she get one and she got this look an…

Coming from Llewellyn this Spring 2020 (yup, 2020) - the Fairy Wheel Tarot by Leeza Robertson. It's illustrated by Emily Fiegenschuh. It follows the RWS tradition, and it will feature fae of all sorts as they guide the passage of time and the seasons. The images available online are scarce, but they're quite promising: Death Queen of Cups, the Fairy Godmother of Spring

I was at a goth / fetish club receiving a brief reading by an intense psychic intuitive about a decade ago. The Lovers card featured two beds, each occupied, with an IV bloodline connecting the two. It was very intense and I am beginning to think I'll never locate or identify the deck. Has anyone crossed paths with this? It may have been the 2 of cups as well...

The website says "New edition - coming soon" 😊 . They have apparently altered the dimensions and the website says it will be sold in a box (I am thinking tuck box?). http://www.ancientegyptiantarot.co.uk/?fbclid=IwAR2dO1FzlvX_CDFSzyklJZyJ7tX0L46zYEzMIO4dWkCDFHYjomG9_qzCkjY It will apparently be published by Green Man Press This OOP deck has fetched some ridiculous prices and so this is certainly good news!

The daughter of a friend of mine has shown some interest in Tarot cards so I went looking for kid-friendly decks and came across this printable tarot deck. http://www.littlepaganacorns.com/printable-tarot-cards/ It follows the RWS imagery but the imagery uses clipart-type figures and is more upbeat and quirky. Having said that 10S is still a figure with 10 swords in his back, and Death is still the Grim Reaper, but a more cutesy version. (See below). There is less detail than in the RWS cards; the cards are stripped down to their main symbols. Less overwhelming for children, perhaps, depending on their age. There is also a 41-page manua…

This Sunday I plan on picking up a new deck!! (Even though I just got the Vice Versa deck two weeks ago). I’ll be buying the Gilded Tarot Royale. It’s a nostalgic deck for me, since the original was my very first tarot deck many years ago. Imo, the new version looks so much more amazing....and it’s borderless! (The original wasn’t, and i have a personal distaste for bordered cards 😅)

I recently purchased the light visions tarot deck (third edition I believe) and it has a matte finish, it is incredibly difficult to shuffle. The cards keep sticking together and not in the way that glossy cards stick together.. I mean it's like the cards have been glued, it's so difficult to pry them apart sometimes. Has anyone had tarot cards like this before? Will they get easier to shuffle with time? I really like them but I wish I could shuffle them properly.

~heavy sigh~ I got an e-mail yesterday saying that the release of the MRP Mythical Creatures Tarot release is being delayed from November 18, 2019 to January of 2020 due to adjustments of the cold stamping for this deck. I am posting this for those that did not pre-order the deck but are keeping an eye out for it. I am so bummed this my X-mas/Yule present to myself! On the bright side they did say they would be including a small addition to the deck ...... hmmmmmmmmm .... wonder what that might be.

Hi! I'm constantly on the lookout for new decks to try out, and I was wondering if folks might have some recommendations. The decks I use the most are Tarot of Vampyres and the Dreams of Gaia. I also like the Sacred Rebels Oracle. A friend recently linked me to the Weaver Tarot and Threads of Fate Oracle preorders (and my awesome mom saw me squee on FB and ordered me the Threads ssf Fate, eeee) which is part of what led me to think to seek out someplace to ask for recs. 🙂 I am doing a lot of spiritual work, including shadow work, that involves themes of the crossroads (like Hecate) or weaving dreams or reality (like Arachne or Arianrhod). I'm pretty open as far…

The maker of the Pokémon Evolution Tarot is considering doing a second print run. Please let them know of your interest! I’m sharing the news around because I know I’m not the only one who would love the chance to get this awesome, collaborative artist deck which didn’t get much visibility the first time around (so a lot of people who would have backed instead missed it). Below link includes a super short google doc survey you can fill out to tell them you want one. TELL ALL YOUR POKÉMON TAROT FRIENDS. I looked through this forum to see if I could find a topic like this but didn't see one. I just thought it might be fun to share what decks we're reaching for lately. What do you keep returning to and why? What deck is drawing your attention right now? Do you think there's a reason? I've been drawn to the This Might Hurt tarot pretty steadily since I received it (last fall) and that's still true now. But I could see how recent events might cause people to reach for something new or familiar or just change things up! So I'm curious. 🙂 (I'm new so please let me know if this isn't the right spot for this.)

Here's a beautiful and unusual deck by Kevin Jay Stanton, new on Kickstarter: I love the striking art. This seems like a deck where readers might need to rely a lot on the book to understand the flowers and meanings intended by the creator- the flowers I recognize strike me as pretty intuitive (like Lotus and Elderflower), but there are others I don't immediately recognize. According to the Kickstarter page it comes with "a booklet explaining the symbolic meaning of each card and each plant." I've been following this artist and really love his work.

I'm on a no buy/low buy year but I still like to check Kickstarter every once in a while (because FOMO and also because I like to make things difficult for myself ) and I came across this deck. I searched the forum but I don't think it's been mentioned around here yet, so I wanted to ask what you guys think? Personally I think it looks really nice, even though I'm not usually a fan of fairy decks and don't own a single one. I love heavy gold foiling, it's one of the things that drew me into the Ethereal visions. But I'm not a huge fan of the pregnant Empress... I just think it's too one sided an interpretation for that card.
