Tarot Decks

I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this? I opened up Star Spinner and found many of the corners to be torn - to be clear, its just the top layer, not through the entire card. Then I ordered a new deck and its got the same problem. This is clearly happening when the cards are being punched out of their larger sheets. Are cards usually punched out, rather than cut? Obviously I haven't heard any other mentions of this problem but.. Are all Star Spinners like this? Are they in a bad run? It seems kind of pointless to just keep requesting new decks and have the same problems over and over. The issues are quite small, but they're physically tor…

what do y’all think of this deck?

According to the Llewellyn website, this deck is forthcoming in October this year: "This deluxe, limited-edition, numbered kit is the most sought after deck of the year. Packaged in a stunning premium box, the cards combine the moody essence of the original deck with the addition of evocative splashes of blood red detailing." I'm curious if anyone knows the background of this deck? Since they refer to the differences between this edition and "the original deck" I assume another version has been in print before, but I'm not familiar with it. Thanks for any info!

Hi, anyone from AT? Wondering if anyone remembers this story. This was a stunningly gorgeous deck that had some serious drama and production broke down. Did it just disappear? I kept some pretty lo-res images because I loved it and wanted a copy. I remember people even had pre-orders. It's probably gone but I wonder if anyone knows how the story ended. I'll be around the forum more in the future I believe so be back!

I tend to watch new releases across the major companies quite closely, and this was never on pre-order before--just suddenly available for ordering now. I wonder if it is a rushed production, perhaps U.S. Games' response to the proliferation lately of antique RWS decks without copyrights on the face of the cards. Now that they have competitors, they finally have to listen to this long-standing complaint (but notice that they've still put the copyright on the card back).

Hello, Does anyone have a recent printing of the Hanson Roberts who can comment on print quality? I got a sealed "old" printed in Belgium deck thinking Belgium is always better than Italy, and it's a real disappointment. Several cards are printed out of focus, including The Star, the ace of cups, seven of cups and 4-5-6 of wands. Is anyone able to comment on the printings currently for sale? Better yet, can you take nice close up pictures or scans? Thanks to anyone who can help.

So I just discovered that this was due for release in September (at Star Trek conventions) but the pandemic threw a spanner in the works. Woohoo! - can't wait! I only see the extra cards that make up the whole table, but I'm think this would make a great oracle. I look forward to what they come up with for the standard deck.

I recently acquired a copy of the Ember and Aura Tarot, which is a deck made with gnosticism in mind. It actually uses the figure of Christ as its Hierophant card, which, while I'm not religious myself, I think is actually an extremely apt choice for the Hierophant I'd never thought of, and the watercolor art is lovely! I thought it might be a great choice for anyone looking to incorporate tarot into their Christian/Catholic/etc. spirituality. Here's some pics!

I really love RWS decks with original old images (eg Centennial Edition). But now I want to buy a deck with bright colors. I choose between Radiant and Universal decks (US Games). In the first, I like the colors and smoothness of the lines, but on it the faces of people are drawn a little differently from that of Pamela Colman Smith. The second is closer to the original, but not "radiant" enough. How do you like these two decks? What do you advise? And I know there is also a Radiant Wise Spirit deck (Lo Scarabeo), but its drawing lines are too rough.

I have gotten a new indigo deck. However, there are few cards which get particularly greener than others on the backside. I find it "disturbing" when pulling the card, because I may recognize the particular few cards. I worry if it will influence my pulling of the cards and readings. I think the 2nds are gone now, but there are some 3rds, and 4ths 🙂 I wasn't interested when it first came out, then recently purchased one from a member here and it is one of the most stunningly visual decks I own. So just sharing the info here.

Hi friends, There was a deck I ran across in the forum not that long ago and was thinking about it the other day and now I can't find it. I don't remember what it was called, but it was on the cartoon-side of the spectrum, and it was something like Unfortunate Tarot deck or something; all of the cards were light-hearted, but kinda just bad luck, like the unfortunate side of tarot.
