There have been so many discussions lately around the topic of diversity (and the lack thereof) when it comes to tarot and oracle decks. Its an important one and its a topic that we here at TT&M care greatly about. That is why I am hoping that you will all want to help me compile a massive list of decks that are diverse (in any way). I am talking about the decks that are inclusive when it comes to skin color/ethnicity/culture, age, body shapes, sexual orientation, gender variance, physical disabilities and so on. @gregory @Rodney and others on here that migrated from AT. Do any of you still have photos of your collections? Sometimes people don’t realize just how passionate tarot people can be. It seems that I once remember reading some post in the middle of the night about gregory and Kaplan (RIP) competing for some deck on eBay. It was eons ago now.

After consulting Daniel earlier today, I decided to start a thread about what to keep in mind if you are a beginner and on your way to chose a tarot deck. This project will run for the rest of the year. Similar to gregory's "most used deck" poll, please just list decks. Do not discuss merits. Do not say whether you use the deck or not, etc. It will be ignored. Just list what decks you think should be included in a final list of 40 decks. I've owned a copy of The Tarot of the 78 Doors for quite some time, but never used it. However, I do take it out every so often and look through it. I find it intriguing. After puzzling over my original horrible cheapo copy of the deck for several years (which I bought before I was aware of counterfeit decks), I have finally acquired a genuine Lo Scarabeo deck. Unlike the counterfeit, which had atrociously bad (unusably rough and sticky) card stock, this one is made to a high standard and can be shuffled and dealt without trouble. So I'm ready to start. When I was younger and began my tarot studies, someone gifted me a set called Easy Tarot that included the Gilded Tarot deck. I was immediately drawn to it back then, but I stepped away for a very long time and now that I am returning, I would like to use the Gilded as my main deck because its still calling to me after all of these years. I did some searching and found out that there is a more recent Gilded Tarot called the Gilded Tarot Royale. I was wondering if anyone could offer insight or comparisons of the two. I know I want one of the two decks, but I can't seem to make the decision. Thanks in advance for any advice or help!

There is a number of decks in my collection that I don't read with, that I don't completely understand, that would require a lot of work to get into - but I don't want to get rid of them. I hold on to them in the hope that one day, I'll kick my own lazy ass, dig into the deck and start working with it. These decks interest and somehow fascinate me, yet I never really get into them. One of these decks is the Tarot of the Holy Grail for me. The Grail story is interesting, and the deck is very beautiful. I thought I’d yammer a bit about my deck categories. I hope it is interesting or fun to somebody. (And it might be my topic for my tarot society presentation in July . . .) I’m at 379 decks in my collection, which includes tarots, oracles, and historical reproduction playing cards, as of this minute, with 7 of those being on preorder. (Can’t resist a Llewellyn coupon . . .) I love organizing things (on paper at least), so I’ve categorized my decks as systems and themes. The Playful Heart Tarot is one of the decks I would have loved to have! I keep going back to KittenChops' website to look at it and sigh. Today, I saw that the artist is considering bringing back this deck. She asks people who would be interested in buying it to give her feedback, subscribe to her newsletter and give her an idea of how many decks to print. I did so immediately, and if you are interested, maybe you wish to do the same? It's a unique deck, done in watercolours, and it's wonderful to see a deck without AI.
